How FabWise works

FabWise is a managed service. An independent, FabWise-verified fabricator visits your site, makes the work and installs it, and the quote is in that fabricator's name. FabWise is your one point of contact: it picks the fabricator, checks the quote, collects your payments on the fabricator's behalf, tracks the job and holds part of the fabricator's payment until any snags are fixed.

In short: you deal with FabWise, and verified local fabricators do the making and fitting. FabWise does not run its own workshop or send its own fitters.

Who are the fabricators?

Independent glass and metal workshops in Delhi NCR, most of them small family businesses that have done this work for years. Before a fabricator gets a FabWise job, FabWise checks four things:

  • Past work: finished jobs we can see, in person or in photos and video.
  • Workmanship: how cleanly the glass is cut and polished, how fittings are fixed and how the site is left.
  • Identity: a government ID for the person running the workshop.
  • Address: a workshop that can be visited.

Each fabricator signs an agreement with FabWise that covers the quote format, timelines, the warranty on fittings, payment through FabWise and the amount held back for snags. A fabricator that does not keep to it stops getting FabWise jobs.

Step by step

  1. Tell us what you need on WhatsApp or the form. A photo of the space helps.
  2. Book a ₹99 site visit through FabWise. A verified fabricator visits within 24 to 48 hours and takes the measurements. Repairs need no paid visit: a photo or video is usually enough to start.
  3. Get a written quote in the fabricator's name, about 2 hours after the visit. FabWise checks it against the published rates and the agreed scope before you see it. It is valid for 3 days.
  4. Approve it and pay FabWise a 50% advance. FabWise collects it on the fabricator's behalf and passes it on so fabrication can start. The ₹99 visit fee is adjusted in the final bill.
  5. The fabricator makes the work. Toughened glass usually takes 7 to 10 days. FabWise tracks it and confirms the installation date with you.
  6. The fabricator installs and clears the site. FabWise checks the finish against the quote.
  7. Pay FabWise the remaining 50% on completion. Part of the fabricator's payment stays with FabWise until any snags are fixed.

Where does my money go?

You pay FabWise, never the fabricator directly. FabWise collects every payment on the fabricator's behalf and keeps a record of it. The advance goes to the fabricator so materials can be ordered and work can start. After installation, FabWise passes on the balance, minus a part it holds back for the snag period. That held-back amount is what makes a fabricator come back quickly to fix a door that drags or a seal that leaks: it is not paid until the job is right.

Who gives the warranty?

The fabricator gives the warranty on fittings, and FabWise enforces it. The terms are the same as before: for example, a 1 year functional warranty on hardware for bathroom door styles and a 2 year functional warranty on the floor machine for office styles. Glass is not covered, because toughened glass breaks from impact, not from age. If something covered goes wrong, you contact FabWise, not the fabricator. FabWise gets the fabricator back to fix it, and if the fabricator does not, FabWise gets it fixed.

Is GST included?

The written quote states the full amount you pay. Most FabWise fabricators are small workshops that are not registered for GST, so their quotes carry no GST. If your business needs a GST invoice, tell us before the site visit and FabWise assigns a GST-registered fabricator; its quote then shows the GST separately. When you compare FabWise with another quote, compare the final amount payable on both.

Why not hire a local fabricator directly?

You can, and for a small one-off job a fabricator you already trust is fine. FabWise is for when you would rather not do the chasing: getting a written quote you can trust, getting someone to turn up on the agreed day, and getting them back when something is not right. With FabWise you get a checked fabricator, a quote checked against published rates, your money held until the work is done, and one number to message from the first photo to the last snag.

Prices for each style are on the pricing page, the terms that apply to every job are on the terms page, and short answers to common questions are on the FAQ page. For the company itself, see about FabWise.

Common questions

Does FabWise make or install the work itself?

No. Independent, FabWise-verified fabricators measure, make and install. FabWise picks the fabricator, checks the quote, collects your payments on the fabricator's behalf, tracks the job and holds part of the fabricator's payment until snags are fixed.

Whose name is on the quote?

The fabricator's, arranged and managed by FabWise. The work contract is between you and the fabricator; FabWise manages it and is your one point of contact.

Who do I pay?

FabWise, never the fabricator directly. FabWise collects the 50% advance and the 50% balance on the fabricator's behalf.

Who do I call if something goes wrong after installation?

FabWise. Message us with a photo or video, and FabWise gets the fabricator back to fix it. You don't need to contact the fabricator yourself.

Can I get a GST invoice?

Yes, if your business needs one. Ask before the site visit and FabWise assigns a GST-registered fabricator, whose quote shows the GST separately. Most FabWise fabricators are small workshops not registered for GST, so their quotes carry no GST.
