When a straight partition with a hinged door is the right layout

This layout suits the most common Indian bathroom plan: a rectangular room with the shower at the far end, the WC and basin nearer the door, and enough width for one glass line to run from wall to wall. The partition splits the room in two, and the hinged door gives a full-width, easy entry.

The question to settle first is swing room. A hinged door needs clear floor in front of it, roughly the width of the door, without hitting the WC, the basin or a cabinet. If it does not have that, a frameless sliding shower partition does the same job without swinging out.

Glass, hinges and how it stays leak-free

The glass is 10mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass, used for both the fixed panel and the door. Toughened glass is cut, edged and drilled before it is heat-treated, so hinge holes are set at the factory and cannot be moved later, which is why the visit measures carefully.

The door usually hangs on glass-to-wall or glass-to-glass hinges, depending on whether it opens off the wall or off the fixed panel. The fixed panel is held to the wall and floor with clamps or a slim channel, and a support bar to the wall or ceiling is commonly added where a panel is tall or wide. Water is kept in by three things: a floor slope towards the drain inside the shower, a seal or wiper along the bottom of the door, and neutral-cure silicone where glass meets wall and floor. The first is a tiling matter, which is why the visit checks which way your floor actually falls.

What a frameless partition costs, worked out

The rate is per square foot of glass, door included, from ₹500 per sq ft. Bathroom heights vary, so here are three common sizes:

The height you choose matters as much as the width. Most partitions stop around 6.5 to 7 ft, leaving a gap below the ceiling for steam to escape; a floor-to-ceiling partition is more glass and more cost.

Other things that move the quote: frosted or fluted glass for privacy, a hinge or handle finish other than standard, a support bar, and a door that needs a cut-out around a skirting or niche. From site visit to a working shower

Book the ₹99 site visit and it is usually arranged within 24–48 hours. The team measures the opening at top, middle and bottom (bathroom walls are rarely plumb), checks the floor slope and the position of taps, niches and the drain, and agrees the door direction with you. If the bathroom is still being tiled, measuring after tiling is finished gives the most accurate glass.

The all-inclusive quotation aims to reach you within about 2 hours of the visit and is valid for 3 days. Approve it, pay the 50% advance, and your panels are cut, drilled for hinges and toughened, a stage that generally runs 7–10 days. Keeping the glass clear and the door sound

Gurugram and Noida both run on hard groundwater, and the white film it leaves is the most common complaint about any shower glass. A squeegee after every shower removes most of it before it dries; a weekly wipe with diluted white vinegar or a mild limescale cleaner handles the rest.
