Shower Glass, Windows & Mesh on Dwarka Expressway, Gurgaon

The Dwarka Expressway runs from the Delhi border near Dwarka down to NH-48 near Kherki Daula, and the Gurgaon stretch is lined with Gurugram's newest group housing. Sectors 99 to 113, often called New Gurgaon, include large projects such as Sobha City in Sector 108, Hero Homes in Sector 104, Experion Windchants in Sector 112, Godrej Vrikshya in Sector 103 and BPTP Verti Greens in Sector 102, with more towers still rising. What new owners on the Expressway usually need

Developers deliver a flat that is liveable but rarely finished to the owner's taste. The gaps are predictable, and most are glass or fabrication work.

Shower cubicles: which one for which bathroom

Bathrooms in these projects are usually rectangular with the shower at one end. A frameless shower partition with door, from ₹500 per sq ft, is the most common choice for a wall-to-wall shower. In a compact second bathroom, a frameless sliding shower partition from ₹550 per sq ft avoids a door swinging into the WC. If you prefer a black frame, a slim profile shower enclosure with door starts at ₹1,100 per sq ft.

All use 10mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass with SS304 fittings and a 1 year functional warranty on hardware. The important practical point is timing: if you are changing tiles after handover, glass is measured after the new tile face is complete, because toughened glass cannot be cut once it is tempered.

Dust, heat and window sealing

With large sites still under construction around many sectors, dust is the defining feature of daily life on the Expressway, and it finds every gap in a window frame. Builders' standard sliding windows often have loose interlocks and thin brush seals, which is what lets dust and traffic noise in; see window gap, dust and noise. Owners deal with it in one of two ways: better sealing and mosquito mesh on the existing frames, or replacement with uPVC windows that seal more tightly. Working in a society that is still being completed

• Expect a gate pass for workers and material, and a service-lift booking through the maintenance office.
• Facade rules are usually strict in the early years: external grills, balcony enclosures and new railings may be restricted.
• Work hours are often limited to set daytime slots, with noisy work not allowed in the evenings.
• The service-lift car size sets the largest single glass panel, so we measure it at the ₹99 visit.

Balconies and terraces

Families with young children often want balcony railings higher or less climbable. A glass balcony railing or infill panels behind the existing railing are the usual answers, but in a new society any visible change usually needs the maintenance office's approval first. Top-floor units with terraces commonly add a polycarbonate terrace shed or pergola once the society allows it.
