Office Glass & Metal Fabrication in Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon

Udyog Vihar lies on the western side of NH-48, facing DLF Cyber City across the highway. It was laid out as an industrial estate in five phases of plots, and over the years many of those plots have turned into office buildings, back offices, studios and IT parks, while others still run as workshops, export houses and small factories. For glass and metal fabrication in Gurgaon, that history makes Udyog Vihar unusual in Gurugram: one building can need an office cabin on the first floor, a mezzanine in the warehouse and a new shutter at the loading bay.

What a converted plot looks like

• High ceilings. Former sheds and industrial floors often have more height than a tower floor, which allows a mezzanine but makes full-height glass panels taller and heavier.
• Large open floors. Ten cabins on one floor is a normal brief, not a big one.
• Truck access and loading bays. Material goes in through a gate or shutter, which makes delivery simpler than a tower lift.
• Ageing frontages. Many buildings still wear their original plaster or glazing and are being re-clad with ACP or glass.
• Plot boundary gates. Wide entries that need a sliding or swing gate strong enough for vehicles.

Glass cabins on large floors

The standard office brief here is several cabins and meeting rooms built at once. It is a structural job: the steel sections, column spacing and base plates depend on the load the floor will carry, whether that is filing, stock on racks or people at desks. A mezzanine also needs a proper staircase railing and edge protection. Tell us at the visit what will go on it, and check with the building owner, since a mezzanine changes the use of the floor. Shutters, gates and frontages

All of these are fabrication jobs with no published rate. They are quoted in writing after the ₹99 site visit, because the opening size, the steel section and the fixing into old structure decide the price. Shutters and gates that face the road also face the dust and diesel of an industrial area, so a good primer and paint or powder coat is worth paying for.

Access is easier, but plan the day

Most Udyog Vihar buildings are owner-managed, so there is usually no tower-style fit-out permit. Work can often run during the day, deliveries come straight to the gate, and a large glass panel does not have to fit a lift. That makes the installation simpler. What still needs care is a building with tenants on other floors, and roads that are busy at shift change.
