Aluminium-framed office glass partitions
Glass set within a slim powder-coated aluminium profile, with a matching framed door. The profile absorbs walls and floors that are out of true, takes a black, white, grey or brown finish, and can be unbolted and re-erected if the layout changes. Specified where the building is older, the tolerances are poor, or the partition is not intended to be permanent.
An aluminium-framed glass cabin uses the same 12mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass as our frameless cabins, set in a slim black aluminium frame with SS304 fittings and a door on a floor machine. The frame forgives walls, slabs and floors that are out of true, and it gives the cabin a defined outline that suits industrial and modern interiors in Gurugram and Noida offices. The rate starts at ₹1,100 per sq ft of glass, set after a ₹99 site visit and a written quote.
Why choose a frame when frameless costs less here
On our rate card the framed cabin is the premium option, not the budget one. Many fabricators frame thinner glass to save money; ours puts the frame around the same 12mm toughened glass as a design addition. That is extra material on every pane plus the work of setting it true, which is why it sits at ₹1,100 per sq ft against ₹400 per sq ft for the frameless glass cabin with door.
So the frame has to earn its place. It usually does in two situations. First, old or uneven structure: a slab that dips across the room or a column that leans takes up gaps a frameless panel would show, because the frame's channel hides small variations. Second, the look: a black grid reads as deliberate architecture, and it pairs well with exposed ceilings, black light tracks and warehouse-style fit-outs.
If neither applies, frameless is the cleaner and cheaper build, and a fixed frameless glass wall is cheaper still where no door is needed. Compare all of them in the office glass partitions catalogue.
Glass, frame and door hardware
The glazing is 12mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass, the same thickness as the frameless cabins. It sits in a black aluminium frame, which is the documented finish for this style; if you want white, raise it at the visit. Fixings and door hardware are SS304.
Framed systems usually work in two stages. The profiles are fixed to floor, walls and ceiling first and set straight and plumb, and the glass is then placed into them with gaskets or glazing tape. Because the frame does the levelling, the glass can be cut to slightly more forgiving sizes than a frameless panel that has to meet an uneven wall on its own.
The door is normally a framed or frameless glass leaf on a floor machine. The floor machine carries a 2 year functional warranty. Warranty covers fittings, not glass.
Transom panels above the door, mullions that line up with ceiling grids or desks, and frosted bands inside the frame are all common ways to customise the layout, and all are settled before the glass goes into production.
How much a framed cabin costs: three examples
Like every office style, the framed cabin is priced per sq ft of glass, from ₹1,100 per sq ft. Typical sizes:
Single front, 10 ft wide × 9 ft high (90 sq ft): ₹99,000
Two-sided corner room, 8 ft + 8 ft × 9 ft (144 sq ft): ₹1,58,400
Meeting room, 12 ft + 10 ft × 9 ft (198 sq ft): ₹2,17,800
The same factors that move any glass partition quote apply: frosted or fluted glass, a double door, locks, extra mullions or transoms, ceiling height and access. Floor area does not, which surprises people: an L-shaped run that encloses a large room can cost less than a four-sided box around a small one.
If you are deciding between framed and frameless purely on budget, run both through the aluminium glass partition price guide and the office glass partition cost guide. The visit will tell you whether the floor actually needs a frame.
What happens between the visit and a finished cabin
The ₹99 site visit is usually arranged within 24–48 hours. For a framed cabin it focuses on the structure: how far the slab and walls are out of level, where the frame can be anchored, what runs above the ceiling, and where the door will open without hitting desks or a column. The fee is adjusted against your final bill if you go ahead.
The all-inclusive quotation aims to arrive within about 2 hours of the visit and stays valid for 3 days. Fabrication starts once the 50% advance is paid. The toughened glass generally takes 7–10 days to produce, and the installation date is confirmed for your site.
On site, the frame goes up first, then the glass, then the door and its adjustment. The remaining 50% is due when the agreed work is complete. Offices in the converted industrial buildings of Udyog Vihar, where floors are rarely perfectly level, are exactly where a frame tends to make sense. For Noida offices, see glass office partitions in Noida.
Caring for the frame, the glass and the door
Aluminium needs only a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid solvent cleaners, which can dull a powder-coated or anodised finish, and keep scrapers off the frame edges. Clean the glass as you would any office glass, with a soft cloth and nothing abrasive.
Gaskets in the frame do slowly harden over years. If a panel starts to tick or buzz, the cause is usually a loose glazing bead or a gap at a fixing; glass partition rattling explains what to look for.
The door is the part that works hardest. A door that has dropped and started catching the floor is described in glass door dropped and dragging, and a lock that no longer lines up with its keep is covered in glass door lock not working. Both are usually adjustments to the floor machine or patch fittings, and the floor machine is under a 2 year functional warranty. Common questions
What is the price of an aluminium glass partition with door in Gurgaon?
Our aluminium-framed glass cabin starts at ₹1,100 per sq ft of glass, all-inclusive for the agreed scope. A 10 ft × 9 ft front with a door, 90 sq ft, comes to ₹99,000 at that rate. The final figure depends on glass area, frosting, extra mullions, door hardware and access, and is fixed after the ₹99 site visit.
Why is the aluminium-framed cabin more expensive than frameless?
Because our frame is added around full 12mm toughened glass, not used to make thinner glass work. That means extra aluminium on every pane and more work to set it straight. Elsewhere in the market framed systems often use thinner glass and come out cheaper, so the two prices describe different builds. Frameless starts at ₹400 per sq ft.
Is the aluminium frame available in white?
The documented specification for this style is a black aluminium frame. White can be discussed at the site visit, along with the layout of mullions and transoms. Whatever finish is agreed is written into the quotation before anything goes into production.
Can an aluminium-framed partition hide an uneven floor or wall?
Within limits, yes, which is one of the main reasons to choose it. The frame is set level and plumb first, and its channels take up small variations in the slab or wall that a frameless panel would show as a tapering gap. Large dips or leaning columns still need to be assessed at the visit before the frame is designed.
What warranty does an aluminium glass cabin come with?
Its listed specification gives the door's floor machine a 2 year functional warranty. Like every FabWise warranty it applies to fittings, not glass. If something goes wrong with the door or the frame after installation, contact the team on WhatsApp with photos and they will guide you on the next step.
