Shop Fronts, ACP Cladding & Shutters on MG Road, Gurgaon

MG Road in Gurgaon is the Mehrauli–Gurgaon Road, the old route from South Delhi that runs past Guru Dronacharya, Sikanderpur and MG Road metro stations towards IFFCO Chowk. It became Gurugram's first mall strip in the 2000s, with MGF Metropolitan and DLF City Centre on either side of MG Road metro station and Sahara Mall a little further on, and it is lined with showrooms, car dealers, restaurants, banks and older office blocks. An ageing frontage, and the three ways to renew it

A standalone showroom or office building on MG Road usually has one of three problems: a tired glazed front, cladding that has faded or come loose, or a shutter that no longer runs. Often it is all three, and fixing them in the right order matters because they share the same opening.

Glass shop fronts for heavy footfall

A toughened glass shop front with door uses 12mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass with SS304 anti-rust fittings, and starts at ₹500 per sq ft. ACP cladding, aluminium composite panel, is the quickest way to give an old plastered or tiled building a clean modern face and a place for signage. It is fixed to an aluminium or MS frame, and the quality is in that frame and the joints: poorly fixed panels rattle and lift in storm winds, which is behind most ACP panel loose calls. Owners re-letting upper floors to offices often go further and add structural glazing for a continuous glass facade. Shutters and security

Almost every ground-floor unit on MG Road closes behind a rolling shutter. A shutter that sticks or drops unevenly usually has worn springs, a bent slat or a guide channel full of dust; see rolling shutter stuck. When a shop front is being renewed, it is worth deciding whether the shutter goes in front of the glass or behind it, because that changes the frame design. West-facing fronts can add aluminium louvers above the glazing to cut afternoon glare.

Repairs that cannot wait

A shop that cannot lock its door, or a broken panel on the front, is a lost day of trading. Glass repairs are quoted from photos or a video on WhatsApp, without a paid visit. Planning around trading hours and the road

MG Road is busy all day and parking is tight, so deliveries and installation are best planned early in the morning or after closing.
