Terms for FabWise jobs

FabWise is a managed service. The work on every FabWise job is made and installed by an independent fabricator verified by FabWise, and your contract for the work is with the fabricator named on your quote. FabWise arranges and manages the job, and collects your payments on the fabricator's behalf.

1. Who does what

  • FabWise answers your enquiry, assigns a FabWise-verified fabricator, checks the quote, collects payments on the fabricator's behalf, tracks the job, checks the finish against the quote and handles any complaint.
  • The fabricator named on your quote visits the site, takes measurements, makes the work and installs it, and is responsible for its workmanship.
  • Your contract for the work is with that fabricator. FabWise is not the maker or installer of the work.

2. Site visit

  • New work needs a site visit, booked through FabWise. It costs ₹99, paid to FabWise upfront, and covers one visit only.
  • The visit fee is not refundable. If you go ahead, it is adjusted in the final bill.
  • Repairs do not need a paid visit. Send a photo or video on WhatsApp to start.

3. Quotes

  • The quote is issued in the fabricator's name, arranged and managed by FabWise, and checked by FabWise before you receive it.
  • It covers the agreed scope only and is valid for 3 days from the date it is issued.
  • Anything outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before it is done.
  • Most FabWise fabricators are not registered for GST, so their quotes carry no GST. If you need a GST invoice, ask before the site visit and FabWise will assign a GST-registered fabricator, whose quote shows the GST.

4. Payment

  • You pay FabWise, which receives every payment as the fabricator's collection agent. Your receipt shows the payment was received on the fabricator's behalf.
  • 50% of the quote is payable on approval, before fabrication starts, and the remaining 50% on completion of the agreed work.
  • Do not pay a fabricator directly for a FabWise job. Payments made outside FabWise are not covered by these terms.
  • FabWise holds back part of the fabricator's payment after installation until any snags reported in the snag period are fixed.

5. Timelines

Toughened glass usually takes 7 to 10 days to make after the advance is paid. Other work is timed in the quote. The installation date is confirmed with you once the work is made. Delays caused by site access, building rules or changes to the scope can move the date, and FabWise will tell you as soon as it knows.

6. Snags and warranty

  • Report any snag to FabWise within 7 days of installation, with a photo or video. FabWise arranges for the fabricator to fix it.
  • The fabricator gives a warranty on fittings as applicable to the job, for example a 1 year functional warranty on hardware for bathroom door styles and a 2 year functional warranty on the floor machine for office styles. The quote states what applies to yours.
  • Glass is not covered by the warranty. Damage from impact, misuse, or work done by anyone else is not covered.
  • FabWise enforces the warranty: contact FabWise, not the fabricator. If the fabricator does not fix a covered fault, FabWise arranges for it to be fixed.

7. Cancellations

You can reschedule a site visit by contacting FabWise. Once the advance is paid and fabrication has started, the work is made to your sizes and cannot be used elsewhere, so the advance covers materials and work already done and is not refundable.

8. Your responsibilities

  • Give the fabricator safe access to the site at the agreed times.
  • Get any permission your building, society or RWA needs before the work starts.
  • Tell FabWise before the visit about anything unusual: hidden pipes or wiring, work-hour rules, lift limits.

9. Contact

Questions or complaints go to FabWise on WhatsApp or at Support@fabwise.in. See how FabWise works for the same process in more detail.
