Gates, Pergolas, Railings & Glass in Nirvana Country, Gurgaon

Nirvana Country is Unitech's gated township in Sector 50 of Gurgaon, next to South City 2, with Sohna Road on one side and Golf Course Extension Road a short drive away. Unlike the tower societies around it, it is mostly low-rise: villas in enclaves such as Espace and The Close, independent houses on plots, and builder floors, with schools, clubs and small shopping blocks inside the township. Many homes here are well into their second decade, so, as in the older parts of Gurugram, a lot of fabrication work in Nirvana Country is renovation: replacing what has worn out, and adding what the original builder left off.

The jobs that come up in a villa or plotted house

A house on its own plot has a gate, a boundary, a roof, open stairs and a lot of windows, and every one of those is metal or glass. In order of how often owners ask:

• Main gate: a new MS main gate or sliding gate for the car porch, often to replace one that has sagged or rusted at the base.
• Pergola or shed: an MS pergola over a terrace or lawn sit-out, or a polycarbonate terrace shed where rain cover matters.
• Staircase railing: a modern staircase railing in SS or glass to replace an old MS one during a renovation.
• Window grills and safety doors: MS window grills and an MS safety door for ground-floor security.
• Windows: uPVC windows where the original frames leak dust and rain.
• Bathrooms: frameless shower glass when bathrooms are re-tiled.

Gates: designing for weight, hinges and the monsoon

A villa gate in Nirvana Country is usually wide, heavy and opened several times a day for cars. When it fails, it is rarely the gate panel. It is the hinge posts moving, the bottom rail rusting where water sits, or a sliding gate track filling with grit. A good replacement starts with the posts and the foundation, uses hinges or wheels rated for the weight, and has a finish that keeps water out: primer and enamel paint at the least, powder coat where the budget allows. Pergolas and outdoor shade

Gurgaon summers make terraces and lawns hard to use without shade, and the township's low-rise layout means many homes have both. An MS pergola gives filtered shade and suits a garden or front terrace. A polycarbonate roof keeps rain off but traps heat unless it is well ventilated and UV-protected. The decision usually comes down to whether you want to sit out in the monsoon. Both are quoted after the ₹99 site visit, once span, anchor points and drainage are known. Check your township association's rules on structures that are visible from the street before you order.

Bathrooms in older villas

When a Nirvana Country bathroom is renovated, old framed shower cubicles come out and frameless glass goes in after the new tiles. A frameless shower partition with door starts at ₹500 per sq ft, and an L-shape frameless enclosure with door for a corner shower starts at ₹500 per sq ft. If the bathroom is not being re-tiled and the walls are a little out of square after years of settling, a slim profile shower partition with door from ₹1,100 per sq ft hides the gaps better.
