Frameless toughened glass shower partition with a hinged glass door, fitted wall to wall in a tiled bathroom

A shower glass partition in Noida is usually the last thing to go into a bathroom, after the tiles, the fittings and the plumbing, and that order is the reason it is so often done badly: whoever fits it has to live with walls that are a few millimetres out of plumb and a floor that has been sloped towards the drain. We work from a measurement taken on site, after the tiling is finished, and price the glass per sq ft from the rate card rather than per bathroom.

Which shower cubicle style suits which Noida bathroom?

Seven styles cover nearly every bathroom we see in the city. All use 10mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass; the hinged and sliding ones carry a 1 year functional warranty on the hardware. The rate is the starting rate per sq ft of glass, fitted.

Three kinds of Noida bathroom, three different jobs

New-possession flats in Noida Extension and the Expressway towers

In a freshly handed-over flat in Noida Extension or one of the towers along the Noida Expressway, the bathroom is usually small, rectangular and finished by the builder with a curtain rod or nothing at all. The shower zone tends to sit at the far end, beyond the WC, and the door of the bathroom often swings inwards. That geometry makes a hinged partition awkward, so a sliding partition is the common answer. Owners moving in also tend to want the glass fitted before the furniture arrives, which means the 7–10 day glass production time needs to be booked into the move-in plan rather than discovered after it.

Mid-2000s society flats in Sectors 74 to 79 and around Sector 62

Bathrooms in the older group housing across Sectors 74 to 79 are often being renovated rather than fitted for the first time. Retiling changes floor levels, and an old aluminium sliding cubicle has to come out before the new glass goes in. Walls here are more likely to be slightly out of true, which is where the slim-profile styles earn their price: the frame takes up a gap that frameless glass, which cannot be cut once toughened, would show.

Kothis in Sectors 44 to 50

The independent houses of Sectors 44 to 50 have bigger bathrooms, sometimes with a window inside the shower area and sometimes with a bathtub that is being swapped for a walk-in shower. These are where fixed screens and full corner enclosures make the most sense, and where the panels get heavy enough that the wall behind the hinge side needs checking for a concealed pipe before anything is drilled.

What a Noida shower partition costs: a worked example

Take a typical tower-flat bathroom: the shower zone is 3 ft wide and the glass runs 7 ft high, so the partition is 21 sq ft. As a frameless partition with a door that comes to ₹10,500; as a sliding partition, ₹11,550; as a fixed walk-in screen of the same size, ₹7,770. A corner enclosure measures both sides, so a 3 ft by 3 ft corner at 7 ft high is 42 sq ft, or ₹21,000 hinged.

The things that move a quote above that starting figure are visible at the site visit:

  • Height. Running the glass to the ceiling instead of 6.5–7 ft adds area and may need a top support.
  • A return panel or a step. A partition that wraps round a ledge or a raised shower floor is more glass and more cutting before toughening.
  • Wall condition. Out-of-plumb walls may push you towards a slim-profile frame.
  • Access. A panel has to fit in the service lift and through the flat door. Very tall panels in older Noida towers sometimes go up the stairs.

Hard water, monsoon damp and the society maintenance office

Noida's supply in many sectors is mixed with borewell water and is commonly hard, so the white film on shower glass appears within weeks if it is not wiped after use. That is a cleaning issue rather than a fault; our guide to hard water stains on shower glass explains what removes it. A partition that lets water out at the bottom is a different matter, usually a seal or a floor slope problem, covered under shower door leaking. Heavy doors that drop over time are covered in shower door sagging.

Inside a society, the work itself is internal, so it rarely needs approval, but most maintenance offices still want a gate pass for the installers and the glass, and some only allow drilling during set hours. Tell us the society's rules when you book and we plan the visit and the fitting day around them.

Common questions

How much does a shower glass partition cost in Noida?

It is priced per sq ft of glass, starting at ₹370 per sq ft for a fixed screen and ₹500 per sq ft for a frameless partition with a hinged door. A common 3 ft by 7 ft partition works out to ₹10,500 at that rate. Height, return panels, wall condition and access change the final, all-inclusive quote.

Which is better for a small Noida flat bathroom, sliding or hinged?

Sliding, in most compact bathrooms. A hinged door needs clear floor in front of it to swing, and in many tower-flat bathrooms that space is taken by the WC or the basin. A sliding partition opens within its own width. If you have the room, a hinged door is slightly simpler to clean and starts at a lower rate.

Do I need society permission to fit a shower partition?

Usually not, because it is internal work inside your flat. Most Noida societies still ask for a gate pass for the installers and the glass, and some restrict drilling to fixed hours. Check with your maintenance office and tell us the rules when you book, so the visit and the fitting day fit inside them.

Shower partition lagwane mein kitne din lagte hain?

Roughly 7–10 days from the advance, because that is how long toughened glass takes to produce. Before that, the visit is usually arranged within 24–48 hours of booking and the quote comes within about 2 hours of the visit. Fitting itself is normally done in a single visit once the glass arrives.

Is the glass covered by warranty?

No. Warranty covers fittings, not glass. Our hinged and sliding bathroom styles carry a 1 year functional warranty on the hardware, and the glass is 10mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass with SS304 fittings. Toughened glass is far stronger than ordinary glass, but a breakage from impact is not a hardware fault.

Can you fit a partition before the bathroom tiles are finished?

We measure after tiling, not before. Toughened glass cannot be cut once it is made, so the panel is sized to the finished walls and floor. Measuring early means the glass may not fit once the tiles and the floor slope are in, which is the most common cause of gaps and leaks.
