Fixed glass partitions for bathrooms

A single fixed toughened glass panel screening the shower, with an open walk-in entry and no door. There are no hinges, no track and no handle, so there is no moving hardware to maintain and none to pay for. Suited to walk-in showers and to wet areas set at one end of a larger bathroom.

A fixed frameless shower screen is a single panel of 10mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass on SS304 anti-rust fittings that stops the splash from a shower while leaving the entry open. There is no door, no hinge and no track, so it is the simplest and lowest-priced bathroom glass we fit, starting at ₹370 per sq ft of glass. It suits walk-in showers in Gurugram and Noida bathrooms with enough length to keep the water on the right side of the glass.

Will a walk-in screen keep the water in your shower?

A fixed screen works by distance, not by closing. It blocks the direct spray, and the open end is far enough from the shower head that little water reaches it. That makes the layout of the bathroom the deciding factor.

It works well when the shower area is long, roughly 4 ft or more from the shower head to the open end, when the shower head points along the glass or towards the back wall rather than at the gap, and when the floor falls firmly to a drain inside the wet zone.

It works badly in short, narrow bathrooms where the shower head faces the opening; there, splash will reach the dry area. In that case a frameless shower partition with door, from ₹500 per sq ft, closes the gap, and a frameless sliding shower partition does it without swing room.

The team assesses splash risk honestly at the visit, because no one wants a wet bathroom floor. Browse every layout in the shower cubicles catalogue.

One panel, and how it is held

The screen is a single panel of 10mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass, fixed with SS304 anti-rust fittings. With nothing moving, the fixing is everything. The usual arrangement is a wall channel or clamps along the wall edge, clamps or a low channel at the floor, and a support bar from the free top corner to the wall or ceiling, which stops the open edge from flexing.

Wider screens or those taller than about 7 ft almost always need that support bar; very narrow ones sometimes do not. The visit decides.

The free vertical edge is polished, because it is exposed and touched daily. A small return panel at the open end, hinged or fixed at an angle, is a common way to catch extra splash without adding a full door.

Unlike our hinged and sliding styles, this specification lists no functional warranty, and that is deliberate: a single fixed panel has no moving hardware for such a warranty to cover. If a fitting gives trouble after installation, share the details on WhatsApp and the team will guide you on the next step.

Fixed screen prices for common sizes

The rate is ₹370 per sq ft of glass, the lowest on our bathroom rate card. Three common sizes:

Narrow splash panel, 3 ft wide × 6 ft high (18 sq ft): ₹6,660

Standard walk-in screen, 3 ft × 7 ft (21 sq ft): ₹7,770

Wide screen, 4 ft × 7 ft (28 sq ft): ₹10,360

Because there is only one panel, the total is usually far below a partition with a door: a 5 ft × 7 ft hinged partition, for comparison, is ₹17,500.

What adds to the figure: a support bar, frosted or fluted glass (a frosted band at body height is popular on screens beside a window), a return panel, a floor-to-ceiling panel, and fixing into hollow or damaged walls. The shower cubicle cost guide for Gurgaon puts every bathroom style side by side, and the glass partition cost guide for Gurgaon explains how glass work is measured more generally.

The job, from visit to first shower

A fixed screen is the quickest bathroom glass to plan, but the visit still matters. At the ₹99 site visit, usually within 24–48 hours of booking, the team measures the panel position, checks the wall for plumb, confirms there are no pipes where fixings will go, looks at which way the shower head points and where the floor drains, and agrees the panel width with you. The visit fee is adjusted against the final bill if you proceed.

The quotation is aimed at within about 2 hours of the visit, all-inclusive and valid for 3 days. Once you approve it and pay the 50% advance, the glass is made to size; toughened glass production generally takes 7–10 days.

Installation is straightforward: channels or clamps first, then the panel, then the support bar, then silicone along the wall and floor. Leave the shower unused while the silicone cures. The remaining 50% is due on completion.

Newer apartments along Sohna Road and in the SPR societies often have long, narrow bathrooms that suit a walk-in screen. For more, see shower cubicles in Gurgaon.

Cleaning a screen that is always half-wet

A walk-in screen is wet on one side and dry on the other, so hard-water marks build up on the inside face first. A squeegee after each shower is the single best habit; a weekly wipe with diluted vinegar or a mild limescale cleaner does the rest. If white film has already set in, shower glass hard water stains explains safe ways to lift it without scratching the glass.

Keep an eye on the silicone along the floor edge, which sits in standing water more than any other joint. If it blackens or lifts, resealing is a small job and stops water tracking under the panel.

Never hang heavy towels or use the support bar as a rail; it is there to brace the glass. If the panel ever cracks after a knock, toughened glass cannot be repaired; it is replaced, as described under toughened glass shattered. Common questions

What is the price of a fixed glass shower screen in Gurgaon?

Our fixed frameless shower screen starts at ₹370 per sq ft of glass, the lowest rate in our bathroom range. A standard 3 ft × 7 ft walk-in screen, 21 sq ft, comes to ₹7,770 at that rate. Support bars, frosting and a return panel can change the final figure, which comes in an all-inclusive quote after the ₹99 site visit.

Does a walk-in shower screen stop water splashing out?

It stops the direct spray, and in a well-laid-out bathroom that is enough. It works best when the shower area is long, the shower head points away from the opening and the floor falls firmly to the drain. In short bathrooms where the head faces the gap, a partition with a door is the safer choice.

Does a fixed shower glass need a support bar?

Most do. With one edge free, a bar from the top corner to the wall or ceiling stops the panel flexing. Wider or taller screens almost always need one; very narrow panels sometimes do not. The visit decides, and the bar is included in the quote if it is needed.

Is there a warranty on a fixed shower screen?

The listed specification for this style carries no functional warranty, because a single fixed panel has no hinges, rollers or other moving hardware for one to cover. Glass is not covered under any of our warranties. If a fitting gives trouble after installation, send a photo on WhatsApp and the team will guide you.

Can a door be added to a fixed shower screen later?

Not to the same panel. Toughened glass cannot be drilled or cut after toughening, so adding a door means making new glass with hinge holes in the right places. If you think you may want a door later, it is usually simpler to choose a partition with a door now.

Bathroom mein sirf ek fixed glass lagana hai, door nahi chahiye. Ho jayega?

Yes. That is exactly what this style is: one fixed panel of 10mm toughened glass, open at one end for a walk-in shower. The team checks at the ₹99 site visit that your bathroom is long enough for the splash to stay inside, and suggests a door only if it clearly is not.
