Balcony Safety, Windows and Shower Glass in Noida Sectors 119–121

Just south of the Sector 62 IT belt, Sectors 119, 120 and 121 are packed with high-rise group housing. Amrapali Zodiac in Sector 120 alone spreads across 18 towers of 22 floors. Sector 119 holds Amrapali Platinum, with towers of about 25 floors, and Gaur Grandeur. Sector 121 has Cleo County, a large ABA project with a shopping street at its centre. These are big, vertical communities with thousands of families, many with young children, and that changes what the glass and metal work is about.

Balcony safety in a 22-storey tower

On upper floors, the balcony is the first thing parents worry about. The original railings in many towers are a standard builder design, sometimes with horizontal bars that a child can climb, and owners want something safer without spoiling the view:

• Raise or replace the railing. An SS balcony railing in SS304 resists rust; vertical balusters with narrow gaps are harder to climb than horizontal rails.
• Add glass infill. A glass balcony railing in toughened or laminated glass stops climbing and keeps the view. Laminated glass holds together if broken; see laminated glass.
• Fix the wobble first. A railing that moves at the top is loose at its base fixings; see railing wobbling.

Every one of these changes the tower's outside, so the society or its maintenance agency has to approve the design. Many towers adopt one approved pattern for all flats. Windows and wind at height

Windows on the twentieth floor take more wind than those near the ground. Typical complaints are whistling in the wind, rattling aluminium windows and rain coming in at the sill during the monsoon. Often the fix is new gaskets, interlocks and blocked weep holes cleared. When frames are tired, a uPVC window with multi-point locking seals better against wind and noise. Grills and mesh

Many families also want MS window grills on bedroom windows that open wide, and mosquito mesh on every opening. In tall towers, grills are almost always restricted to the society's approved pattern, and some societies prefer invisible grilles or none at all on certain elevations. Ask first; it saves a wasted quote.

Cleo Street and the shops inside the townships

Cleo County is building a shopping street, Cleo Street, at the heart of the project, and the large townships here have their own convenience shops. A small shop in a residential complex needs the same basics as one on a main road: a toughened glass shop front with door from ₹500 per sq ft and a shutter, fitted within the complex's working hours. Bathrooms

Standard tower bathrooms suit a frameless shower partition with door from ₹500 per sq ft, or a frameless sliding shower partition from ₹550 per sq ft where space is tight. Glass is 10mm Saint-Gobain toughened with SS304 fittings and a 1 year functional warranty on hardware. Long glass panels must fit the service lift, so tell us its size when you book.
