One design for the whole tower
Societies rarely let each flat invent its own railing. The common route is that the maintenance office or residents' body adopts one approved design, often after a sample is fitted on a single balcony, and owners then upgrade to that pattern individually or in a group. If your tower has no approved design yet, a group of owners proposing one together usually moves faster than one flat asking alone.
How a railing is fixed at height
Everything is done from inside the balcony. The old railing is cut out in sections and each piece is secured before it is freed, so nothing falls. New posts are fixed into the slab edge or the parapet with anchors, either on top or on the face, depending on what the balcony offers. The team checks the concrete at each fixing point, because a railing is only as strong as the base it sits in, which is exactly why an old one starts wobbling.

Glass infill: channel or spigots?
Glass panels are held either in a continuous base channel or on individual posts. A U-channel grips the full bottom edge and gives a clean, frameless look; spigots clamp each panel at two points and suit a balcony where the slab edge can't take a channel. Why the steel grade matters up here

Common questions
Society ne design approve nahi kiya, phir bhi railing badal sakte hain?
It is best not to. Balcony railings change how the tower looks, and societies can ask for unapproved work to be undone. Propose a design to the maintenance office, ideally with other owners, and book the visit once it is approved in writing.
Is a glass balcony railing safe on the 20th floor?
It can be, when it uses laminated toughened glass, a proper channel or spigot system, and fixings into sound concrete. Laminated glass holds together if broken, so the panel stays in place. We check the slab edge at the visit before recommending glass.
How is an old railing removed from a high balcony?
From inside, in sections. Each piece is secured before it is cut free, so nothing can fall, then carried down in the service lift. New posts are fixed before the old railing is fully removed wherever possible, so the balcony is never left open.
SS304 or SS202 for a Cleo County balcony?
SS304 for an exposed balcony. It resists rust spots and staining in rain far better than SS202, which can mark within a few monsoons. SS304 costs more upfront, but far less than replacing a railing that has started to rust, and the quote can price both grades if you want to compare.
