Respecting a thirty-year-old roof
Many roofs in these sectors carry a thick layer of traditional waterproofing and screed, patched over the years. Drilling through it for every post is how a dry bedroom below starts to leak. The safer approach is to land posts on the parapet or on steel base plates fixed with sealed anchors, keep the number of penetrations low, and treat each one with sealant. Where the roof is due for re-waterproofing anyway, do that first and fix the shed after.
Polycarbonate or metal sheet?

Where the water goes
A large roof shed collects a lot of rain, and on these plots it often drains towards a neighbour or onto the porch below. The design should give the sheet a clear fall, a gutter along the low edge, and a downpipe into your own drain. Common questions
Will a terrace shed cause leaks on an old Faridabad roof?
Not if it is fixed carefully. Leaks come from posts drilled through the waterproofing without sealing. A good design keeps penetrations few, uses base plates and sealant, or fixes to the parapet where possible. If the roof already leaks, re-waterproof it first, then install the shed.
Pergola ya shed, garmi ke liye kya better hai?
For shade with air movement, a pergola with slats is better; it stays cooler underneath because hot air escapes. A closed shed keeps rain off but traps heat unless it is tall and open at the sides. Many owners pick a pergola with a partial polycarbonate cover to get some of both.
Can my old porch be extended to cover a second car?
