Sectors 21A, 21B, 21C and 21D, near Badkhal Mor, have been steadily rebuilt as builder floors, where one plot carries three or four separately owned flats. The front setback shed: one structure, several owners

Parking at the front of a builder floor is usually allotted bay by bay. A car parking shed over it needs posts that do not block any owner's car door, a span that covers every bay, and a single agreed colour. A cantilevered shed, hung from brackets on the building, keeps the ground clear but only works where the wall and slab edge can carry the load. Posts are simpler and cheaper but need room at the boundary.

The top floor: higher, windier, closer to a neighbour's ceiling

A shed on a fourth-floor roof catches far more wind than one on a single-storey house, so the frame, the sheet fixings and the bracing are heavier. The sheet must be screwed down with sealing washers at the right spacing, or it lifts in a storm. Under it is the flat below, so posts must sit on sealed base plates rather than holes drilled through the waterproofing. Drainage that keeps the peace

Rain from a front shed can land on the next plot's driveway, and water from a roof shed can spill down the facade past every balcony.
