What unit is a terrace shed priced in?
Per sq ft of roof area, measured on plan (length × width of the covered area). A sloping roof has slightly more sheet than its plan area, and overhangs past the terrace edge add to it. The rate bundles the structure, the sheet, fixings, flashing and installation, so check the quote says so.

- Make sure every quote covers the same area and the same overhang.

- Check that gutters, flashing against the wall and installation are included.
Red flags in a cheap terrace shed quote
- Thin steel sections that flex in wind or bend under the sheet's weight.

Do you need permission for a terrace shed?
Rules differ by building. Many societies in Gurugram and Noida have RWA or facility-management rules on terrace structures and what can be seen from outside, and independent floors may have their own agreements between owners.
