Kothi Gates, Safety Doors & Stairs in Sectors 14 to 17, Faridabad
In Faridabad's Sectors 14 to 17, metal fabrication mostly means replacing an old kothi gate with a swing or sliding MS gate, adding a safety door, and sometimes an outside staircase to the roof. Is the driveway level inside, or does it rise so a swing leaf would scrape? And do you open the full gate daily, or mostly let people in on foot? The answers lead to one of the styles below.

Old pillars, new steel
The weakest point of a gate in these sectors is usually the brick pillar, not the steel. A new leaf may be several times heavier than the old pipe-frame gate, and hinges anchored into old brickwork slowly pull out. Hinges that crack or lift are covered under gate hinge broken. Where a pillar is doubtful, a steel post set into a new footing beside it carries the load, and the brick becomes cladding. We check this at the visit and price both routes.
Sliding gates on a long run
A sliding gate needs a clear wall run as long as the opening and a straight, level track. In older plots, tree roots, drains and a sloping footpath often sit exactly where the track should go. Before you book: a short list
- Photos of the current gate, pillars and the driveway from inside, to share on WhatsApp in advance.
- Whether a motor might be added in the next few years.
- Locks and latches you want; gate lock not working shows why the striker plate matters as much as the lock.
- How the finish will be done: primer and enamel, or powder coating for longer life at the welds.

Common questions
Can a new heavy gate hang on the old brick pillars of my kothi?
Sometimes. If the pillars are solid, plumb and deep enough, new hinges can be anchored into them. If they are cracked, hollow or leaning, a steel post on its own footing should carry the gate. We test the pillars at the visit and the quote states which method is used.
What does a sliding gate cost for a Sector 15 Faridabad house?
There is no published rate for sliding gates. The price depends on the opening width, the steel section and design, the track and its foundation, the finish and whether it is motorised. We measure at the site visit and send a written quote that covers everything agreed for the job.
Gate mein chhota darwaza lagana sahi rahega?
Usually, yes. A wicket door in one leaf lets people come and go on foot without swinging the big, heavy leaves, which saves wear on the hinges and keeps the gate square for longer. It needs its own lock and a frame strong enough not to twist the main leaf.
