Keeping Sun and Heat Out: Window and Door Glass for Noida Sector 168 Flats
For hot west- and south-facing rooms in Sector 168, the glass matters as much as the frame: tinted or low-E glass and double-glazed units cut heat, while sealed uPVC or aluminium frames stop dust. Windows and doors are quoted after a ₹99 visit.

Sector 168's societies, Paras Seasons, Sunworld Arista, 3C Lotus Zing, Nimbus The Golden Palm and Urbtech Xaviers among them, are mostly mid-rise, with open views and little shade from neighbouring towers. That makes the afternoon sun a serious problem in west- and south-facing rooms. The area page deals with Expressway dust and noise; this page is about heat, and the glass choices that control it.
What actually heats the room
Two things: sunlight passing straight through the glass and warming everything it lands on, and hot outside air leaking in through gaps. Clear single glass lets most of the sun's heat through. A good frame stops the leaks; the glass in it decides the rest.
- Tinted glass absorbs part of the sun's energy and cuts glare, at the cost of some daylight and a coloured view.
- Low-E glass has a thin coating that reflects heat while staying fairly clear.
- Double-glazed units add a second pane and an air gap, slowing heat transfer and helping with noise too.
Big glass doors facing west
A slide-and-fold door or wide aluminium sliding door on a west balcony is mostly glass, so it is the largest heat source in the flat. These are the openings where low-E or double glazing earns its cost first. Add mosquito mesh so the doors can stay open after sunset when the air cools.
| Style | Why it suits a Sector 168 flat | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| uPVC window | Takes double-glazed units well; gaskets stop hot-air leaks | Quoted after visit |
| Aluminium sliding door | West balconies; specify low-E or double glazing | Quoted after visit |
| Slide-and-fold door | Wide openings that should open fully on cool evenings | Quoted after visit |
| Mosquito mesh | Lets doors stay open after sunset | Quoted after visit |
When double glazing goes wrong
A double-glazed unit is sealed at its edges. If that seal fails, moisture gets between the panes and the glass fogs from inside; cleaning won't fix it, and the unit is replaced. Good units from a sound frame rarely do this. On windward sides a poorly sealed frame can also whistle in the wind, which new gaskets usually cure.
Before booking
- Note which rooms get the afternoon sun and which openings are largest.
- Ask the maintenance office whether tinted glass is allowed, because it changes the tower's look.
- Check frame colour rules and book the service lift for installation.
The ₹99 visit is usually arranged within 24–48 hours and adjusted against your bill. A free, all-inclusive written quote follows within about two hours, valid for 3 days, and fabrication begins on a 50% advance, with the rest paid on completion. The uPVC window price guide explains how glazing choices move the cost. All frames are on windows and doors in Noida and in the windows and doors catalogue. The Sector 168 page covers dust, noise and terraces, and Sector 150 next door has larger homes with the same sun.
Common questions
Dhoop se kamra bahut garam hota hai, kaunsa glass lagayein?
For a west- or south-facing room, low-E glass or a double-glazed unit cuts heat noticeably while keeping the view fairly clear. Tinted glass also helps and cuts glare, but darkens the room. Pair any of them with a well-sealed frame so hot air doesn't leak in.
Is tinted glass allowed in Sector 168 societies?
It depends on the society. Tinted glass changes how the tower looks from outside, so many maintenance offices want to approve it. Low-E glass is closer to clear and is less likely to be an issue. Check the rule before the visit.
Why has my double-glazed window gone foggy inside?
The edge seal of the unit has failed and moisture has entered between the panes. Cleaning cannot reach it, so the sealed unit is replaced while the frame usually stays. Send a photo on WhatsApp and we will advise on a replacement unit.
Should I replace the windows or just the glass?
If the frames are sound and seal well, changing only the glass may be enough, provided the frame can take the new glass thickness. If frames leak air or dust, replace them too. We check both at the visit before quoting.
