Aluminium sliding windows made to each opening
An aluminium sliding window is a fabricated aluminium frame with two or more glazed shutters running on rollers in a track, with an optional third track for a sliding mosquito mesh. Sections range from economical domal and standard sliding profiles to slim, heavier-gauge systems with larger glass and better seals. Glass is plain float, toughened or a double glazed unit depending on size and noise. Frames are anodised or powder coated. Specified for bedrooms, kitchens and balconies in apartments and builder floors where a window must open without swinging into the room. The track and the brush seals decide how well it keeps out dust. Measured on site and installed by one team.
Aluminium sliding windows are what most Gurugram and Noida flats were built with, and they are still the most practical window for a room where a swinging shutter would get in the way. Done properly they glide with one finger and keep the dust on the outside. Done cheaply they jam, rattle and let the road in. We measure each opening, recommend the section and glass, give you a written quote and fit the windows with our own team.
Domal, standard or slim: the aluminium section matters most
Aluminium windows are built from extruded profiles, and the profile series decides how the window looks, how strong it is and how well it seals.
Domal sections have a rounded, moulded face and are the commonest residential choice. They are economical, suit standard window sizes, and are available in two-track and three-track (with mesh) versions.
Standard sliding sections are flatter and squarer, and come in a range of wall thicknesses. A heavier gauge resists flexing on wider shutters.
Slim or premium sliding systems have narrow visible frames, larger glass, better rollers and multi-point or interlock seals. They suit large openings, living rooms and any window where the view matters.
Whatever the series, the details that make a window good are the same: stainless or sealed bearing rollers, brush (wool-pile) seals at the interlock, EPDM gaskets around the glass, and drainage slots in the bottom track so rain does not stand in it.
Frames can be anodised, or powder coated in white, black, grey, wood-effect or a colour to match the facade.
Glass choices: plain, toughened or double glazed
Most small windows use plain float glass, usually 5mm or 6mm, set in the shutter with a gasket.
For large shutters, low sills, bathrooms and anywhere a person could fall against the glass, toughened glass is the safer choice: it is several times stronger and breaks into small blunt pieces. Frosted or reflective glass suits bathrooms and street-facing rooms.
Where road noise is the problem, a double glazed unit (DGU) of two panes with a sealed air gap reduces noise and heat transfer. A DGU needs a section deep enough to hold it, which is often the deciding factor in whether aluminium or uPVC is the better frame. Our comparison of uPVC vs aluminium windows explains that trade-off in detail.
The third track is worth considering in Delhi NCR, where mosquitoes are a monsoon fact of life: a sliding mosquito mesh shutter on its own track lets the glass open with the mesh closed. Pleated or roller mesh can be fitted instead if you want it hidden.
Dust, rain and noise in Gurugram and Noida
Three local conditions shape how we specify windows here.
Dust. Construction, open plots and the pre-monsoon dust storms push fine dust through any gap. The defence is a well-fitted interlock with brush seals, a frame squared to the opening and silicone sealing between frame and wall. Gaps here are the subject of our window gap, dust and noise page.
Monsoon rain. Driving rain enters through blocked drainage slots or an unsealed frame joint. Correct weep holes and an outside sealant bead keep it out; see window leaking rain water.
Road noise. Flats facing the Dwarka Expressway, Golf Course Extension Road, the Noida Expressway or a busy sector road need better seals and possibly double glazing. A sliding window will never seal as tightly as a casement, so for a very noisy bedroom we may suggest a uPVC window instead.
In societies, replacing windows on the external face may need RWA approval for colour and section, so ask before ordering.
What changes the price of aluminium windows
Window prices depend heavily on the specification, so we quote after measuring rather than publishing a rate.
Section series and gauge. Domal is the most economical; slim systems cost substantially more.
Number of tracks. A three-track window with a mesh shutter costs more than a two-track one.
Glass. Plain float, toughened, frosted or a double glazed unit, in rising order of cost.
Finish. Anodised or powder coated, and standard or special colour.
Hardware. Roller quality, locks and handles.
Removal of old frames. Taking out old steel or aluminium frames and making good the plaster adds labour.
Height and access. Windows reached from inside are faster to fit than ones needing scaffolding outside.
We price each window on the written quote, so you can mix specifications, for example slim sections in the living room and domal in utility rooms. The uPVC window price guide also compares aluminium costs side by side.
Visit, fabrication, fitting and care
Book a site visit for ₹99, adjusted against the bill if you proceed; it is usually arranged within 24 to 48 hours. We measure every opening, check whether the walls are square, and agree section, glass and colour. The written, all-inclusive quote usually follows within about two hours of the visit and is valid for three days.
Fabrication begins on a 50% advance: profiles are cut, assembled and glazed to each opening's measurement. Fitting includes fixing the frame, packing and sealing it to the wall, and adjusting the rollers. The balance 50% is due on completion.
To keep the shutters gliding, vacuum the track monthly, keep the drainage slots clear before the monsoon, and never oil the rollers, since oil collects dust. If a window drags, see sliding window hard to slide. Other options are in the windows and doors catalogue.

Common questions
What is the difference between domal and slim aluminium sliding windows?
Domal sections have a rounded moulded face and are the most economical choice for standard openings. Slim sliding systems have narrower visible frames, larger glass, better rollers and tighter seals, and suit large openings and living rooms. Slim systems cost more but look cleaner and generally seal better.
Are aluminium sliding windows good for dust in Gurgaon?
They can be, if the interlock has brush seals, the frame is squared to the opening and the gap between frame and wall is sealed. Most dust problems come from poor fitting rather than the material. For a very dusty or noisy road-facing room, a uPVC window with compression seals may perform better.
How much do aluminium sliding windows cost in Noida?
The price depends on the section series, number of tracks, glass type, finish, hardware and whether old frames must be removed. We do not publish a per sq ft rate for windows; we quote each window after measuring, in writing and all-inclusive for the agreed scope.
Can a mosquito mesh be added to an aluminium sliding window?
Yes. The neatest way is a three-track frame with a sliding mesh shutter on its own track. For an existing two-track window, a pleated, roller or fixed mesh can usually be fitted to the frame or the opening without replacing the window.
Purani khidki nikal kar nayi aluminium window lag sakti hai?
Yes. We remove the old steel, wooden or aluminium frame, make good the opening, and fit the new aluminium window measured to that opening. Removal and plaster repair are included in the written quote so there are no add-ons later. A bedroom window is usually changed in a few hours once the new frame is ready.

- What is aluminium sections?Aluminium sections are extruded aluminium alloy profiles, most often alloy 6063 in a T5 or T6 temper, that form the frames of windows, sliding doors, partitions, louvres and facades, finished by anodising or powder coating.
- What is double-glazed unit (dgu)?A double-glazed unit (DGU, or insulated glass unit) is two panes of glass held apart by a spacer and sealed around the edge, with dry air or gas trapped between them to cut heat and noise.
- What is epdm gaskets?EPDM gaskets are flexible synthetic-rubber seals, made from ethylene propylene diene monomer, used in windows, doors, facades and glass systems because they stay elastic and resist sun, ozone and weather far longer than PVC seals.
- What is hydraulic door closer?A hydraulic door closer is a spring-and-oil device, usually mounted at the top of a door, that pulls the door shut after it is opened and uses oil flow to control the closing speed.
