Noise: the main-road flat
Sound comes through the weakest point, and in most windows that is the gap around the sash, not the glass. A uPVC window with multi-point locking and EPDM gaskets seals tighter than a basic slider. For the worst cases, double glazed units with two panes of different thickness help further. Casement (side-hung) windows usually seal better than sliders. Dust and smog: the seal matters more than the frame
Fine dust gets in wherever air does. A sliding window needs a sash that overlaps the frame with brush or rubber seals, and drainage weep holes that let rain out without letting dust whistle in. Do uPVC windows really reduce traffic noise in Delhi?
They help a great deal when the seal is good, because most noise comes through gaps rather than the glass. A well-fitted casement uPVC window with EPDM gaskets and double glazing makes the biggest difference. A cheap slider with loose seals will not. Ask for the opening type and gasket in the quote.
uPVC ya aluminium, Delhi ke liye kaunsa better hai?

Can old windows in a DDA flat be replaced without breaking the wall?
Usually the old frame is cut out and the new one fixed into the same opening, with the edges made good. Some plaster repair around the frame is normal. DDA and RWA rules on the outside face of the block may restrict changing the size or position of a window, so check before enlarging an opening.
Do new windows stop smog getting in?
A well-sealed window cuts the fine dust and smoke that leaks in through gaps, which helps an air purifier work. No window makes a room airtight, and you still need ventilation. Good seals, closed-cell gaskets and correct installation matter more than the frame material.
Is there a warranty on windows and doors?
