In Delhi, metal fabrication is mostly about security and redevelopment. Builder floors: one gate, four owners

A rebuilt plot in South or West Delhi typically has stilt parking for four to eight cars and four separate owners. The stilt gate is usually a sliding gate because the driveway between the gate and the first car is short. Since every owner uses it, it should be agreed between them before it is ordered: the design, whether it should be ready for a motor later, and who pays. DDA flats: grills and what the rules allow

Ground- and first-floor DDA flats are where window grills are most asked for. DDA has its own rules on additions and alterations in its flats, and many RWAs add their own on what can be fixed to the outside face of the block. Okhla, Naraina, Mayapuri: industrial metal work

Delhi's older industrial estates have high-roofed sheds on small plots, so space is gained by going up. A steel mezzanine floor can add a storage or office deck, with a metal staircase to reach it. These are structural, so the visit looks at the floor slab, the columns, the load the deck must carry and the clear height under it. Rust, dust and the Delhi monsoon

Mild steel needs protection from the first day. Delhi's monsoon floods low colony lanes, leaving gate bottoms in water, and winter smog leaves an acidic film that eats into cheap paint.
