Laxmi Nagar is a densely built commercial and residential area in East Delhi, best known as a coaching hub, with Vikas Marg running through it. Laxmi Nagar and Nirman Vihar are on the Blue Line, with the V3S mall beside Nirman Vihar station, and Preet Vihar follows towards the east. Preet Vihar itself is more of a planned colony of plotted houses and offices, while Laxmi Nagar and neighbouring Shakarpur are tightly packed, with narrow lanes and buildings that have grown floor by floor.

The coaching industry is the biggest single driver of glass work here. Institutes for accountancy, computer courses, banking and government exams fill the upper floors along Vikas Marg, and every one of them wants more rooms out of the same floor.
