Market showrooms: the street front

A typical Delhi showroom front has three layers: a rolling shutter at the outer line, a toughened glass shop front behind it, and an ACP band above for the sign. They have to be planned together, because the shutter box, the glass head and the ACP frame all want the same space above the opening. Markets often have association rules on how far a front can project, and some heritage-zone streets restrict materials. ACP: the fire question

ACP is two thin aluminium skins bonded to a core. A plain polyethylene core is cheaper but burns; a fire-retardant core is what building and fire norms increasingly expect on multi-storey buildings. Structural glazing on office buildings

Structural glazing gives an office block a smooth glass face with no visible frame outside, held by structural silicone. It is a building-level job, usually for owners or developers rather than tenants, and it needs careful design for wind load and water-tightness. Shutters for shops, godowns and loading bays

Delhi's wholesale markets and industrial estates run on rolling shutters. Market streets are crowded by day, so facade work above a shop is often done early in the morning or after closing, with the area below kept clear. The site visit notes the access, the association's rules and whether a scaffold permission is needed.
