Windows and Balcony Doors for Rohini and Pitampura Homes
In Rohini and Pitampura, the main reasons to change windows are summer heat and dust. A sealed uPVC window, with double-glazed or low-e glass on west-facing rooms, keeps more heat out than an old slider; balcony doors get a sliding door with a mesh track. All are quoted after a ₹99 site visit.

Rohini's numbered sectors and Pitampura's older pockets sit on the north-western edge of Delhi, where summer afternoons are fierce and dust storms blow in before the monsoon. DDA flats and group housing societies here mostly have their original windows, which let in heat and fine dust through every gap. Our Pitampura and Rohini area page covers the housing types. This page is about choosing windows and balcony doors to keep a flat cooler and cleaner.
Heat gets in two ways
Heat enters a flat through the glass itself, as sunlight, and through gaps around the frame, as hot air. A cooler flat needs both dealt with:
- Sealing the frame. A uPVC window with compression gaskets, or a well-built aluminium window with good interlocks, stops hot, dusty air leaking in.
- Choosing the glass. Double-glazed units slow heat passing through. Low-e glass reflects much of the sun's heat while staying clear.
- Facing. West-facing bedrooms take the worst afternoon sun; that is where better glass earns its cost.
On north or east faces, a well-sealed frame with ordinary glass is often enough. Spending on the right rooms gives most of the comfort for a fraction of the cost.

The sliding vs casement windows guide helps if you are deciding how each window should open. The uPVC window price guide explains what changes the cost.
Double glazing has its own failure
A double-glazed unit is two panes sealed with a spacer. If that seal fails, moisture gets in and the unit fogs between the panes; double-glazed window fogged explains it. Ask for units from a reliable supplier, and keep weep holes in the frame clear.
Balcony doors that seal
Many Rohini flats have a balcony door that whistles on windy evenings and lets dust settle on the floor; window whistling in wind explains why gaps cause it. A new sliding door with brush seals and a mesh shutter fixes both. In group housing societies, ask the managing committee about frame colour, since balcony doors are visible from outside.
How the job runs
Book a ₹99 site visit, usually within 24 to 48 hours. We measure each opening, note which way it faces and check lift or stair access for long door panels. The written, all-inclusive quote follows within about 2 hours, valid for 3 days. A 50% advance starts fabrication; installation goes room by room, and the balance is due on completion.
Browse the windows and doors catalogue, see windows and doors across Delhi, or compare with the older steel windows of nearby Paschim Vihar. Book the visit and we will suggest a spec per room.
Common questions
Do uPVC windows keep a Rohini flat cooler in summer?
They usually help, mainly by sealing the gaps through which hot, dusty air leaks in. For west-facing rooms, adding double-glazed or low-e glass reduces heat through the glass as well. Curtains and shading still matter, but a sealed window makes air conditioning work less hard.
How much does a balcony sliding door cost in Rohini?
Sliding doors have no fixed published rate. The opening size, frame system, glass type, number of tracks and mesh decide the price. After the ₹99 site visit you get a written, all-inclusive quote within about 2 hours, valid for 3 days.
Double glazing har khidki mein zaroori hai?
No. It is most worthwhile on west-facing rooms and on windows facing busy roads or the metro line. North and east windows usually do well with a well-sealed frame and ordinary glass. At the visit we note which way each window faces and suggest where the extra spend is worth it.
