Thresholds: the detail that matters in the monsoon
A wide door opening onto a lawn or terrace is exactly where driving rain lands. A slide-and-fold or sliding door needs a threshold that drains outward, weep holes in the bottom track and a step or fall on the outside. Glass for big openings
Large panels facing open ground benefit from double-glazed units: two panes with a sealed gap that cut heat in May and reduce condensation on the inside face in winter. They are heavier, so roller and hinge hardware has to match; a sliding or uPVC door with undersized hardware eventually droops, the uPVC door dropping problem.
Sliding, folding or casement for the bedrooms?

- Bring the township's guidelines on frame colour and pattern to the visit; changes visible from outside need written approval.
- In condo towers, measure the service lift car. Large door panels are split into leaves that fit it at the drawing stage.
- For villa garden doors, check the path from the gate; heavy panels need a clear carry route.
- Note which openings face the course and the prevailing wind.
How the work runs
The site visit is ₹99, adjusted against the final bill. We measure every opening, check levels and the lift, and discuss the township's rules. A written quote follows, usually within about two hours and valid for 3 days. After the 50% advance, frames and glass are made to size; old frames come out and new ones go in one opening at a time. Common questions
Can a slide-and-fold door replace the sliders in a Jaypee Greens villa?
Usually, if the wall can take the stacked panels and the opening has a proper lintel. It gives the widest clear opening of any door type. We check stacking space, the lintel and threshold drainage at the visit, and the township must approve the external change.

Dust gets past worn brush seals and loose sashes on older sliders. uPVC windows with compressed gaskets, or casements, seal much tighter. Sometimes new seals and rollers on the existing frame are enough. We check at the visit and quote both routes where possible.
Do I need township approval to change windows at Jaypee Greens?
Usually, yes, for anything visible from outside, such as frame colour, pattern or a wider opening. Interior-only work needs only a work permit. Bring the township's guidelines to the site visit so the design and finish are chosen within them.
Are double-glazed doors worth it facing the course?
