Planning Window and Door Upgrades Room by Room in Sectors 21–23, Gurgaon
In Sectors 21 to 23 the sensible order is bedrooms first, with sealed casement windows, then the living room and balcony doors, then service areas. Not every room needs the same window; matching the frame and glass to each room's job keeps the budget sensible. Windows and doors are quoted after a ₹99 visit.

Large plotted houses and builder floors in Sectors 21, 22, 23 and 23A have more windows than most Gurgaon flats: three or four bedrooms, a big living room, kitchen, stair and servant room, often on a corner plot with openings on two sides. Replacing all of them at once is a large bill. A better approach to window and door upgrades in Sectors 21 to 23, Gurugram, is to rank the rooms by what bothers you in each, and specify accordingly.
Ranking the rooms
| Room | Main complaint here | Suggested window | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bedrooms facing the road or flight path | Sleep broken by noise | uPVC window, casement, double-glazed | Quoted after visit |
| Living room | Light, view, dust on wide glass | Aluminium sliding window or uPVC slider | Quoted after visit |
| Balcony or terrace opening | Heavy old door, drafts | Aluminium sliding door or slide-and-fold door | Quoted after visit |
| Kitchen, stair, utility | Ventilation, grease, cost | Aluminium slider with mesh | Quoted after visit |
Doing the bedrooms first gives most of the comfort for a part of the cost. The rest can follow in a second round, and a single visit can measure everything so the second round needs no re-survey.
What actually goes into a quiet bedroom window
Noise gets through glass, through the gap between sash and frame, and through the gap between frame and wall. A casement window pressed shut onto its EPDM gaskets closes the second gap far better than a slider. Double-glazed units help most when the two panes are of different thicknesses, so they do not resonate at the same frequency. And the perimeter must be sealed properly, or the best frame leaks sound round its edge. Our sliding vs casement windows guide explains the trade-off on wide openings.
West sun on corner plots
Corner houses here often have a large west-facing living room window. Plain clear glass turns that room into an oven on summer afternoons. Specifying low-E glass in the double-glazed unit reflects much of the heat while keeping the light, and a lighter-coloured frame absorbs less sun. This is cheaper to decide now than to fix later with film.
Condensation and fogging
Winter mornings can bring water on the inside of cold glass, especially in bedrooms with closed doors. Some of that is normal; see window condensation. Moisture trapped between the two panes of a sealed unit is different, and means the seal has failed: double-glazed window fogged.
Before the visit
- Note which windows rattle or whistle on windy nights; see window whistling in the wind.
- Check whether any grills are welded to the old frames.
- On a rented floor, agree access times with the tenant in advance.
- Decide whether mesh is wanted, so it is designed into the new frame.
How the job runs
The visit costs ₹99 and is adjusted against the bill; it is usually arranged within 24 to 48 hours of booking. The written quotation comes within about two hours and is valid for 3 days, all-inclusive for the agreed scope. After the 50% advance, frames are made to measured sizes, and fitting goes room by room so the house stays usable.
The broader area is on the Sectors 21 to 23 page; shower glass for the same houses is on bathroom glass in Sectors 21 to 23. Common questions
Should every window in my Sector 22 house be uPVC?
Not necessarily. uPVC casements with double glazing earn their cost in bedrooms facing noise. In a kitchen, stair or utility, an aluminium slider with mesh is usually enough. Mixing the two by room keeps the bill down without giving up comfort where it matters.
Does low-E glass make a west-facing room cooler?
It helps noticeably. Low-E glass reflects much of the sun's heat while letting most of the light through, so the glass stays cooler and the room heats up less in the afternoon. It works best inside a double-glazed unit. It does not replace curtains or an AC, but it reduces the load.
Can we replace the windows in two phases?
Yes. One visit can measure every opening, and the quotation can list rooms separately so you can order the bedrooms now and the rest later. Note that a quotation is valid for 3 days, so the second phase will be re-confirmed when you are ready.
Khidki se seeti jaisi awaaz aati hai, kya karein?
Whistling usually means air is forcing through a gap at the sash or around the frame. Worn gaskets or a slider that no longer closes tightly are common causes. Send a video on WhatsApp; sometimes new gaskets fix it, and sometimes a casement replacement is the real cure.
