Windows, Grills and Shower Glass in Sector 82, Noida

In Sector 82, FabWise replaces old windows, makes grills and safety doors for the Kendriya Vihar flats, builds gates and terrace sheds for the Swarnim Vihar houses, and fits bathroom glass from ₹370 per sq ft. Metal and window work is measured and quoted after a ₹99 site visit.

Sector 82 is housing of a different generation from the Expressway towers to its south. Its best-known complexes, Kendriya Vihar and Kendriya Vihar II, were built by the Central Government Employees Welfare Housing Organisation (CGEWHO), and the CGHS Wellness Centre for the sector sits in the community centre of Kendriya Vihar II. Alongside the group housing are Swarnim Vihar, a plotted pocket of independent houses, and Vivek Vihar, an apartment complex from the early 2000s. The sector is laid out in numbered pockets, and the Aqua Line stations at NSEZ and Sector 83 are close by.

What wears out first in a flat from the early 2000s?

Flats of this age were handed over with the fittings of their time, and twenty-odd years on, the same parts tend to fail. None of them needs a full renovation to fix:

  • Windows. Early aluminium or steel frames with single glass, worn rollers and gaps that let dust in. A new aluminium sliding window or a uPVC window replaces the frame inside the same opening.
  • Grills. Original grills rust at the joints and where they enter the wall; see grill loose from the wall. New MS window grills can include an openable section with a lock.
  • The flat entrance. Many owners add an MS safety door outside the wooden main door, made to the measured opening.
  • Bathrooms. Plenty of these bathrooms still have a curtain. A fixed frameless shower partition from ₹370 per sq ft is the least disruptive upgrade.

Flat or plot: who has to agree to the work?

The answer depends on which part of Sector 82 you live in. In a group-housing complex, anything that changes the outside of the block, a grill pattern, an enclosed balcony, a new window colour, is generally a matter for the residents' association. In the plotted pockets, the owner decides, within Noida Authority's building rules, and the neighbours mostly care about shared walls and drainage.

Gates and roofs in the plotted pockets

Independent houses bring the metalwork a flat never needs. A mild steel main gate is quoted on size, pattern and finish, and a sliding gate suits a driveway where a swing gate would block the car. On the roof, a polycarbonate terrace shed gives a covered sit-out or a dry place for the water tanks; the terrace shed cost page explains what drives the price. Paint or powder coating on mild steel is what decides how many monsoons it lasts.

Getting gates, grills and glass into an older block

Low and mid-rise blocks of this period often have narrower stairs and smaller lifts than a modern tower, if they have a lift at all. That shapes how the work is made. Long grill frames and safety doors are planned in sections that can be carried up a turning stair, and a shower panel is sized so it can be manoeuvred into the bathroom. In the plotted pockets the challenge is the street: tell us at booking whether a small truck can stop outside, because a gate leaf is heavy and is carried the last stretch by hand.

Choosing a replacement window

For a bedroom facing a pocket road, the decision is usually between a slim aluminium slider and uPVC. Aluminium keeps a slim, matching look across a block; uPVC seals tighter against dust and sound. The uPVC vs aluminium windows guide compares them properly. Add mosquito mesh in the same visit, because fitting mesh to a frame later often means drilling it again.

FabWise's process does not change by sector: a ₹99 visit within 24–48 hours, adjusted against the bill, a free written quote within about two hours, and 50% advance with 50% on completion. Repairs, such as a cracked pane or a stiff shower hinge, can start with photos on WhatsApp instead. Nearby, the Phase 2 industrial area has factory work, Sector 93 has its own societies, and Sector 137 begins the Expressway towers.

Common questions

Do you replace old windows in Kendriya Vihar flats?

Yes. The old frame is removed, the opening is made good and a new aluminium or uPVC window is fitted and sealed. Windows are quoted after measuring, since openings vary. Check with your association if the new frame colour or style differs from the block's.

Can you make a main gate for a house in Swarnim Vihar?

Yes. A mild steel main gate or sliding gate is made to your opening, pattern and finish. It has no fixed rate because sizes and designs vary, so it is quoted after the site visit.

Purane bathroom mein shower glass lag sakta hai kya?

Usually yes. A fixed frameless screen, from ₹370 per sq ft, fixes onto the existing tiles without breaking the floor. With room for a door, a frameless partition with door starts at ₹500 per sq ft.
