Gates, grills, railings and sheds for housing societies in Delhi
Delhi's residential bodies range from colony RWAs to cooperative group housing societies and DDA complexes. FabWise builds what they share: colony and society gates, boundary grills, stair and terrace railings, parking sheds and lobby glass, measured and quoted in writing after one visit.

Delhi does not have one kind of housing society. South and West Delhi colonies such as Greater Kailash, Defence Colony, Vasant Vihar and Rajouri Garden are run by RWAs that manage gates, guards and parks. Dwarka, Patparganj and IP Extension, Rohini and Vasundhara Enclave have large numbers of cooperative group housing societies (CGHS), each with a managing committee. And DDA built many flat complexes, from Vasant Kunj to Mayur Vihar and Sarita Vihar, where residents' bodies manage shared spaces. Each type buys fabrication differently.
The housing societies hub covers common-area fabrication in general. In Delhi the type of residents' body decides almost everything about the job: who approves it, what the building allows and how the work is phased. So this page takes them one at a time.
Three kinds of Delhi society, three kinds of job
Colony RWAs
The work is at the perimeter: colony entry gates, often with a pedestrian wicket and boom, guard-room sheds, park railings and boundary grills. RWAs frequently want a design that matches what the colony already has, and the entry has to stay open for residents throughout. An MS main gate or MS sliding gate is quoted after measuring.
CGHS group housing (Dwarka, Patparganj, Rohini)
These are mid-rise or high-rise blocks, many built in the 1990s, now on their second or third round of maintenance. Common jobs include replacing rusted staircase and terrace railings with staircase railing in SS or MS, renewing society gates, adding car parking sheds, and fitting glass doors at block entrances. Managing committees usually want work planned block by block.
DDA complexes
In DDA flats, residents often want individual work (grills, balcony covers, window replacement) while the residents' body manages shared stairs and entrances. Rules on what can be added to a DDA building's exterior exist and vary; the owner or residents' body is responsible for clearing them before work starts.
| Delhi housing type | Typical common-area work | Practical point |
|---|---|---|
| Colony with RWA | Entry gates, guard sheds, park and boundary railings | Keep one entry open throughout the changeover |
| CGHS society | Railings, gates, parking sheds, block entrance glass | Plan block by block; old steel often needs full replacement |
| DDA complex | Shared stair railings, entrance doors, grills | Exterior changes need clearance first |
Old steel, new steel
Much of the common-area steel in Delhi's older societies has been painted over many times without the rust underneath being treated. Replacement railings and gates should start with proper surface preparation, primer and paint or powder coating; our MS gate rust protection guide explains the options, and SS 304 vs 202 vs 316 covers stainless grades for railings. Rust stains on walls and loose handrails are the usual symptoms.
How the job runs in Delhi
Delhi is a core NCR city for us. The committee or RWA books a visit for ₹99, adjusted against the final bill and usually arranged within 24–48 hours. We measure, discuss options and aim to send a written all-inclusive quote within about 2 hours, valid for 3 days. Work begins after a 50% advance; the balance is due on completion. Gates, railings, grills and sheds are quoted after the visit.

Common questions
Do you make colony gates for RWAs in Delhi?
Yes. Colony entry gates in MS, swing or sliding, with pedestrian wickets, are part of our metal fabrication range. They are quoted after measuring the opening and foundation, and the changeover is planned so residents always have a way in and out.
Can you replace old staircase railings in a CGHS society?
Yes. Many 1990s CGHS societies in Dwarka, Rohini and Patparganj have railings that have rusted through. We measure each block, quote SS or MS replacement in writing, and plan the work block by block so stairs stay usable. Handrail fixings are checked as part of the visit.
DDA flat mein grill ya balcony cover lagwa sakte hain?
We can make and fit grills, balcony covers and windows for DDA flats. Whether a particular exterior change is allowed is for the owner and the residents' body to confirm first. Once cleared, we measure and quote after the visit.
How does an RWA pay for common-area work?
The standard terms apply: 50% advance to start fabrication and 50% on completion. The quote is written and all-inclusive for the agreed scope, which makes it straightforward for the committee to record and approve. It stays valid for 3 days, so book once the committee is ready.
