Railings, Gates, Sheds and Lobby Glass for Housing Societies in Gurgaon

Housing societies and RWAs usually need common-area work: corridor and terrace railings, main and tower gates, car parking sheds, lobby glass doors and repairs. The key is one uniform design approved by the committee, fitted tower by tower with residents notified in advance.

An RWA or society managing committee buys fabrication differently from a homeowner. The money is common funds, the decision goes through a committee and sometimes a general body, the work happens around hundreds of residents, and the result has to look the same on every tower. Societies across Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi, from older group housing to new high-rises, tend to need the same handful of jobs.

The common-area work a society usually commissions

Why uniformity matters on a society job

A railing that is one shade off on Tower C, or a parking shed with a different slope in Block 4, becomes a complaint at every meeting. Many societies also have facade guidelines that stop residents fitting individual grills, sheds or balcony glass that changes the building's look. The fix is to approve one design, one material grade and one finish for the whole society, and to make sure the quote names them precisely: SS304 vs SS202, section sizes, polycarbonate thickness and powder coating colour.

How a society job is run

  1. Site survey with the maintenance in-charge (₹99, adjusted against the bill), usually within 24–48 hours. All towers can be covered in one visit.
  2. Written quote, aimed within about two hours of the visit, all-inclusive for the agreed scope and valid three days. Committees often need longer; ask us to refresh the quote when the decision is made.
  3. Sample bay, then committee approval.
  4. Fabrication after the 50% advance, off site.
  5. Tower-by-tower installation, with notices to residents, work limited to the society's permitted hours, and corridors kept usable.
  6. Completion, balance 50%, and a single point of contact for the maintenance office afterwards.

What decides the cost for a society

Railings, gates and sheds have no published rate; they are priced on running feet or area, the steel grade and section, the infill design and the finish. Large quantities make the per-unit cost easier to plan but do not change the material maths. Lobby glass uses the rate card: ₹500 per sq ft for a glass entrance with door. A lobby door set 8 ft wide and 9 ft high is 72 sq ft, about ₹36,000. See SS railing price, MS gate price and terrace shed cost, and how to compare fabrication quotes and managed fabrication vs a local fabricator before the committee meeting.

Societies in Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi

City guides: housing societies in Gurgaon, in Noida and in Delhi. Family pages: railings in Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi; sheds in Noida. Gurugram's group housing along Golf Course Extension Road and the SPR societies, and Noida's high-rises on the Noida Expressway and in Noida Extension, all run on RWA or maintenance-agency approvals. Other cities are on the Delhi NCR page.

Maintenance teams see the same faults again and again: SS railings with rust spots, gates sagging and dragging, broken gate hinges, polycarbonate sheets yellowing and lobby doors that will not close. Send photos on WhatsApp for a repair quote, or book a survey for new work.

Common questions

SS or MS railings for a housing society?

SS304 needs little maintenance and keeps its finish, which suits common areas a committee does not want to repaint. MS costs less upfront but needs primer and paint or powder coating, and periodic repainting. Avoid lower SS grades outdoors where rust spots appear. Our MS vs SS railing guide compares them.

Can residents put their own grills or sheds in a society?

That depends on the society's bye-laws and facade guidelines. Many RWAs restrict anything that changes the building's look, such as balcony grills, terrace sheds or coloured glass. Residents should check with the RWA or maintenance office before ordering work.

How does a society approve fabrication work?

Usually the managing committee compares written quotes, approves a design and a sample, and in larger spends may need general body approval as the bye-laws require. Our quote names the materials, sections and finish precisely so quotes can be compared fairly.

Can the work be done tower by tower?

Yes, and it is the usual approach. Fabrication is done off site, and installation moves from tower to tower within the society's permitted work hours, with notices to residents and corridors kept usable. Ask us to set out the phases in the quote.

Society ka main gate kitne din mein banega?

Usually two to three weeks from the advance, depending on size, design and finish. The gate is fabricated off site and fitted in a day or two, with the old gate kept until the new one is ready so the entrance is never left open. The schedule is confirmed with the quote.
