Shop Front Glass and Shutters for Retail Shops in Gurgaon
A retail shop usually needs a toughened glass shop front with a door, a rolling shutter to lock it at night and a fascia for the sign board. FabWise fits all three, with a glass shopfront at ₹500 per sq ft, and plans the work around trading hours.

For a retail shop, the shop front glass is the advertisement, the entrance and the security line at once. Shopkeepers in Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi usually come to us at one of three moments: a new shop being fitted out, a refresh before a festive season, or a front that has been smashed or has stopped closing. Each needs a slightly different plan, and all of them come down to the same few pieces of work.
What does a shop front actually consist of?
- The glass front and door. A toughened glass shop front with door uses 12mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass with SS304 fittings, fitted to the opening you already have.
- The shutter. A rolling shutter outside the glass, manual for a narrow front or motorised for a wide one. Our guide on manual vs motorised shutters explains the trade-off.
- The fascia. ACP cladding above the glass carries the sign board and hides the shutter box. Ask for an ACP with a fire-retardant core where the market or building requires it.
- Security at the back. MS window grills on rear windows and an MS safety door on the service entrance.
- Inside. A fixed glass wall for a trial room area or a small billing cabin.
Which style suits which shop?
| Shop situation | What we would usually suggest | Style page |
|---|---|---|
| Market shop, full-width opening | Glass front with central door, shutter outside | Glass shopfront with door |
| Mall unit with a mall-supplied shutter | Glass front only, matched to the mall's drawings | Glass shopfront with door |
| Old shop, rusted shutter | New galvanised or powder-coated shutter | Rolling shutter |
| Faded or missing sign band | New ACP fascia over the front | ACP cladding |
| Shop with a rear window to a lane | Welded MS grill, primed and painted | MS window grill |
How do you fit a shop front without closing the shop for days?
A shop loses money every hour its shutter is down, so the job is planned around the till. Measurement takes one short visit. The glass is then made off site, which generally takes 7–10 days for toughened glass, while the shop keeps trading behind its old front. Installation day is the only disruption, and it can usually be set for early morning, a weekly market holiday or after closing, depending on what the market association allows.
- Book the site visit (₹99, adjusted against the bill), usually arranged within 24–48 hours.
- Get a written quote, aimed within about two hours of the visit, all-inclusive and valid three days.
- Pay the 50% advance; fabrication starts.
- Fit on the agreed day, with the shutter and fascia sequenced so the shop is lockable every night.
- Pay the balance 50% on completion.
What changes the price of a shop front?
The glass shopfront is a rated style at ₹500 per sq ft. A typical 10 ft wide by 10 ft high front is 100 sq ft, about ₹50,000. Shutters, ACP and grills have no published rate and are priced after the visit, because they depend on width, height, gauge and finish.
| Factor | Why it moves the cost |
|---|---|
| Front width and height | Glass is priced per sq ft; taller fronts mean heavier panels and more handling |
| Number of doors | Each door adds a floor machine, handles and a lock |
| Shutter width and drive | Wide shutters need heavier slats and often a motor |
| Fascia size and ACP grade | Fire-retardant core panels cost more than standard |
| Working hours | Market rules can limit installation to fixed windows |

Common questions
How much does a glass shop front cost in Gurgaon?
A toughened glass shop front with a door is ₹500 per sq ft, fitted, using 12mm Saint-Gobain glass and SS304 fittings. A 10 ft by 10 ft front works out to about ₹50,000. Rolling shutters and ACP fascia are quoted separately after the site visit.
Can the shop stay open while the new front is made?
Yes. Only measurement and installation happen on site. The toughened glass is made to size elsewhere, which generally takes 7–10 days, and the shop keeps trading behind its existing front. Installation is planned for a time that suits the shop and the market rules.
Do I need market or mall permission for a new shop front?
Often, yes. Malls usually issue fit-out guidelines and approve drawings before any work, and some market associations or building owners control fascia sizes and working hours. Check with them first; the rules vary from one market to the next.
Should I choose a manual or motorised rolling shutter?
It mostly depends on width and daily use. A narrow shutter opened once a day by one person works well manually. A wide or heavy shutter is far easier with a motor, and is less likely to be forced off its guides. Our rolling shutter guide compares both.
Dukaan ka glass toot gaya, kitni jaldi lagega?
Send a photo on WhatsApp and the replacement is quoted from it, with no paid visit. The new toughened panel has to be made to the exact size, which generally takes 7–10 days. Until then, the shutter keeps the shop secure at night, so tell us if the shutter is also damaged.
Is the shop front glass under warranty?
The warranty is on fittings, not glass. The shopfront style carries a 2 year functional warranty on the floor machine, which is the part that takes the most wear on a busy shop door. Broken glass is a replacement job, quoted from a photo.
