Glass Partitions, Mirrors and Metal Work for Gyms in Gurgaon

A gym usually needs glass walls around yoga, spin or PT studios, full-height mirror walls, shower partitions in the changing rooms and, in tall units, a steel mezzanine with railings. Toughened glass is essential where weights and bodies can hit it.

Steel mezzanine floor with a railing in a double-height commercial unit, the kind used for gym cardio decks

Gym glass partitions and mirrors take a beating. A dropped dumbbell, a resistance band that snaps, a member stepping back during a set: glass in a fitness space has to be specified for impact, not just for looks. Gym owners and studio founders in Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi typically need glass to zone the floor, mirrors to train in front of, wet-area glass in changing rooms and, in high basements or double-height units, extra floor space in steel.

Where glass works in a gym, and where it should not

  • Studio walls around yoga, spin, boxing or PT rooms. A fixed frameless glass wall with a glass cabin door keeps the class visible from the floor, which helps sell memberships, while containing music and noise.
  • Mirror walls in the free-weights and group areas, cut to size as custom glass installation. Keep the bottom edge clear of the floor zone where plates are dropped, or protect it with a skirting.
  • Reception and entrance: a glass front with door for ground-floor or high-street gyms.
  • Changing rooms: a frameless shower partition with door per cubicle, or fixed shower screens for an open-entry layout.
  • Avoid glass right beside the deadlift platform and the dumbbell rack. A solid wall or padding there is the honest answer.

Using the height: mezzanines, stairs and railings

Many gyms rent double-height units or basements with tall ceilings. An MS mezzanine floor can add a cardio deck or a stretching area. It must be designed for the load (people moving, machines vibrating), with a staircase railing and edge railings at a safe height; our balcony railing height guide covers the principles. A compact MS spiral staircase suits a small staff area. Steel needs primer and paint or powder coating, especially near showers where the air is humid.

How a gym fit-out is sequenced

  1. Visit and measure (₹99, adjusted against the bill), usually within 24–48 hours. Bring the equipment layout, because it decides where glass can safely go.
  2. Written quote within about two hours, all-inclusive for the agreed scope, valid three days. Glass is priced from the rate card; mezzanines and mirrors from the visit.
  3. Steel first, glass last. After the 50% advance, the mezzanine and stairs go in before the glass, so welding and lifting never happen around finished glass.
  4. Glass and mirrors once the floor finish is down; toughened glass generally takes 7–10 days to produce.
  5. Open gyms: work in the quiet mid-afternoon or overnight slots, zone by zone, so members can keep training.

What gym glass and metal work costs

Studio walls use the fixed glass rate of ₹350 per sq ft and doors the cabin rate of ₹400 per sq ft. A yoga studio wall 20 ft long and 9 ft high is 180 sq ft, about ₹63,000 as fixed glass. Changing room showers start at ₹370 per sq ft. Mirrors, mezzanines, stairs and railings depend on size, load and finish and are quoted after the visit.

Typical gym repairs

Look out for studio doors with a loose handle, squeaking glass doors, a wobbling metal staircase, shower partitions that wobble and loose handrails. Glass faults are quoted from photos on WhatsApp.

Common questions

Is glass safe in a gym?

Toughened glass is, if it is placed sensibly. It is several times stronger than ordinary glass and breaks into small blunt pieces. Keep glass walls away from deadlift platforms and dumbbell racks, protect mirror bottoms from dropped plates, and use solid walls where heavy impact is likely.

How much does a glass wall for a yoga studio cost?

A fixed frameless glass wall is ₹350 per sq ft of glass, fitted, and a glass door section is priced at ₹400 per sq ft. A 20 ft by 9 ft wall is 180 sq ft, about ₹63,000 as fixed glass, with the door priced into the final quote.

Can you build a mezzanine for a cardio deck?

Yes. FabWise fabricates MS mezzanine floors with stairs and railings. Machines and moving people put more load and vibration on a mezzanine than storage does, so it is designed for that use and priced after a site visit. Check structural approval with the building owner first.

Gym mein mirror wall kitne din mein lagti hai?

Usually within a couple of weeks of the advance. Mirrors and any toughened glass are cut to measured sizes off site, and fixing a mirror wall usually takes a day on site. Electrical points and backlighting should be decided before cutting.

Do changing room shower partitions have a warranty?

Bathroom glass styles carry a 1 year functional warranty on hardware; the glass itself is not under warranty. In a busy gym, hinges and seals see heavy use, so an early adjustment visit for a sagging door is worth booking before it damages the seal.
