Balcony and staircase railings in Ghaziabad

FabWise fits stainless steel, toughened glass and mild steel railings on balconies, terraces and staircases across Ghaziabad. Railings have no published rate: each is quoted in writing after a site visit, from the running length, the material and grade, the height and how it fixes to the slab or wall.

A lot of railing work in Ghaziabad is replacement rather than new fitting. The societies of Indirapuram, Vaishali and Vasundhara were handed over with painted mild steel balcony railings, and after fifteen or more monsoons many are rusting at the base plates. Newer towers in Raj Nagar Extension and Crossing Republik often came with a basic railing that owners want to upgrade, sometimes to glass. And the builder floors rising in the old colonies need staircase and terrace railings from scratch.

Choosing the material: what each one asks of you

If you are torn between steel types, MS vs SS railing sets out the trade-off, and SS railing grades 304, 202 and 316 explains why the grade printed on a quote matters. In short, SS304 resists rust far better than SS202 outdoors, which is relevant on an open balcony; the SS304 vs SS202 glossary entry has the detail.

Replacing a rusted builder railing in an older society

Before the old railing comes off, three questions need answers. First, what the society allows: balcony railings are part of the facade, and many RWAs in Indirapuram and Vaishali specify the material, height or pattern so the tower looks uniform. Second, what the slab edge is like: removing old base plates can leave broken concrete that must be made good before the new fixings go in. Third, what happens in between: a balcony on the eighth floor cannot be left open overnight, so the removal and the new fitting are planned for the same visit, or a temporary barrier is agreed.

Height and safety: the numbers that matter

Railing height is measured from the finished floor of the balcony, including any tiles laid since possession. Building codes in India commonly call for a balcony guard of around 1 metre or more in residential buildings, and many societies and architects go higher on upper floors. Gaps between rods or balusters should be small enough that a child cannot get through or climb. Our guide to balcony railing height and safety goes through these, and the visit confirms what your floor and your society require.

Glass railings on Ghaziabad's upper floors

From the higher floors of the Indirapuram and Raj Nagar Extension towers the view across the Hindon or towards Delhi is a reason in itself for glass. Glass railings are held either in a continuous aluminium base channel or on individual stainless steel spigots; the glass railing U-channel and glass railing spigots entries compare the two. At height, laminated or toughened-laminated glass is the safer choice because it stays in place if it breaks. Wind loading on a high balcony and the dust that settles on glass through the dry months are both worth weighing; the glass balcony railing guide covers them.

Staircases in builder floors and duplexes

On rebuilt plots in Kavi Nagar, Raj Nagar and Shastri Nagar, each floor usually gets a stair railing and a terrace parapet railing in the same job. Stair railings are about the handrail as much as the guard: a continuous rail at a comfortable height that does not stop short at landings. Many owners pair an SS handrail with glass or MS infill. Shops on the first floor of the old city markets also ask for stair railings when they open up an upper floor to customers.

Terraces on builder floors: parapet height and the roof garden

The top-floor owner of a rebuilt plot in old Ghaziabad usually gets the roof, and the roof usually becomes a garden, a sit-out or a place for water tanks and solar panels. The parapet wall is often built low to save cost, and a railing on top of it brings the guard up to a safe height without adding masonry load. An SS rail on posts fixed into the parapet top is the common answer; glass on the parapet works where the view is worth it. Planters and potted plants placed against the railing are a hidden risk: a child can climb onto them, so the effective height is measured from the top of whatever stands next to the guard. If you plan to add a terrace shed later, mention it at the visit, because the railing posts and the shed posts can share fixings and the sheds and pergolas page for Ghaziabad covers the roof side.

What decides the price

  • Running length along the balcony, terrace or stair, measured on site.
  • Material and grade: SS304 against SS202, toughened against laminated glass, MS with paint or powder coat.
  • Height and design: more rods, more rails or taller glass add material.
  • Fixing: top-of-slab, side-fixed into the slab edge, or into a parapet; and any repair to the slab after old railings come off.
  • Access: high floors where long sections must go up a service lift or stairs.

The SS railing price guide and glass railing price guide explain each factor. Everything is confirmed in a free, all-inclusive written quote after the site visit, which is booked for ₹99, adjusted against the final bill, and usually arranged within 24–48 hours. Payment is 50% to start and 50% on completion.

Railing faults we see described most

A railing that moves when you lean on it is a fixing failure, not something to live with; see railing wobbling and handrail loose. Brown spots on a supposedly stainless railing usually mean a lower grade or contamination from cutting tools, covered under SS railing rust spots.

All four styles are in the railings catalogue. The railings in Noida page covers the Expressway towers, and the Ghaziabad page lists our other services here. Measure nothing yourself: book the visit and we will take the running length and check the slab.

Common questions

How much does an SS railing cost in Ghaziabad?

There is no fixed rate on the site. An SS railing is priced from its running length, the steel grade, the design and height, and how it is fixed to the slab. We measure at a site visit and send a free, all-inclusive written quote within about 2 hours, valid for 3 days.

Do I need RWA permission to change my balcony railing in Indirapuram?

Usually, yes. Balcony railings form part of the building's facade, and many Ghaziabad RWAs specify the material, height or pattern so the tower stays uniform. Ask the maintenance office for its rules in writing before you choose a design, and share them at the visit.

Is a glass railing safe on a high floor?

It can be, if it is designed for height. That usually means laminated or toughened-laminated glass that stays in place if it breaks, a strong base channel or spigots fixed into sound concrete, and an adequate height from the finished floor. We check the slab edge and exposure at the visit.

Purani MS railing hata ke SS lagwa sakte hain?

Yes. The old railing is removed, the slab edge is checked and made good where old base plates have damaged it, and the new SS railing is fixed. On a high floor we plan removal and fitting together so the balcony is not left open. Check society rules first.

SS304 or SS202: which grade should I choose for a balcony?

For an open balcony, SS304. It contains more nickel and chromium and resists rust far better outdoors, where rain and pollution sit on the steel. SS202 is cheaper and can be acceptable indoors, but it tends to show brown spots outside. Ask that the grade is stated on the quote.

Can you fix a wobbling stair railing in a builder floor?

Usually. A wobble almost always comes from a loose base fixing or a weak weld rather than the rail itself. We look at how the posts are fixed into the steps or slab and re-fix or strengthen them. If the railing is beyond repair, we quote for a new one.
