Mezzanines, Plant Gates and Stairs for Ecotech, Kasna and Surajpur Factories

The Ecotech blocks, Kasna Site IV and V, EPIP Kasna and Surajpur Site B are rows of single-storey sheds with high roofs, an admin block at the front and a wide gate onto an estate road built for trucks. Electronics assembly, packaging, auto parts, garments and warehousing all run in them. When a unit grows, it rarely has spare plot to build on, so the space has to come from above. That is where most metal fabrication in Ecotech and Kasna begins.

Mezzanine first: what decides the design

An MS mezzanine floor is a steel deck on columns inside the shed. Its design is driven almost entirely by what will sit on it. A store for light cartons, an office for twenty people and a deck carrying machines need very different beams, columns and base plates. Before the visit, decide:

• What goes on the deck: stock, people, light machines, or a mix.
• How goods get up: by stair only, by a hoist opening, or by a goods lift.
• Where columns cannot go: forklift aisles, loading routes and existing machine bases.
• What finish the deck needs: chequered plate, grating, or boards on joists.

Column base plates bring point loads onto the existing floor slab, which was often designed only for the original use. For heavy loads, your structural engineer's drawing and sign-off may be needed; we fabricate to it.

The plant gate: wide, heavy and used all day

Estate plots need gates wide enough for a container truck to turn in. A sliding gate on a ground track handles that width without a swing arc blocking the road, and can be automated later; the sliding gate automation guide covers motors and safety. When a heavy gate starts to stick, the cause is usually a worn wheel or a track damaged by trucks, the sliding gate stuck problem.

Steel in an industrial atmosphere

Factory steel lives with dust, rain, washdown water and sometimes process fumes. Mild steel needs primer and paint at minimum; for gates and outdoor members, hot-dip galvanising or powder coating lasts much longer. Welds are the weak point: a cracked welding joint on a gate or mezzanine edge usually started as poor penetration or rust under paint.

How a factory job runs

The site visit costs ₹99, adjusted against the final bill, and is best done on a working day so we see forklift routes and loading times. A written quote follows, usually within about two hours, valid for 3 days, listing sections, finish and scope.
