Spiral Stairs, Grills & Steel Work in Old Gurgaon

Metal fabrication in old Gurgaon works at a different scale from the rest of Gurugram. In Sadar Bazaar, Jacobpura, Civil Lines and the older sectors west of NH-48, houses are built right to the plot line, often with a shop below and two or three floors of family above, and the lanes in front may be too narrow for anything bigger than a hand cart. Steel is everywhere in these buildings: grills on every window, a door to the stair, a ladder or stair to the roof. Most of it is decades old.

Getting to the roof

Many old houses were built a floor at a time, and the internal stair often stops one level short of the roof. An MS spiral staircase solves this in a small square of floor. The answer is to fabricate in sections that two people can carry, then join them on site by bolting or welding. A spiral stair arrives as a column, treads and rail; a long grill comes in panels. Old welds and rust stains

Decades-old steel fails at the joints first. Mild steel, finished properly

Mild steel is cheap, strong and easy to weld on site, which is why it suits these jobs. It only lasts if it is protected: primer, then enamel or powder coat, and no hollow sections left open for water to collect.
