Film City occupies Sector 16A, south of the Sector 16 offices. It was started in 1988 by the film producer Sandeep Marwah, who also founded the Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT), and it is held by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The complex covers about 100 acres with 16 studios, and Marwah Studios sits on Film City Road. National broadcasters and media groups, among them Network 18, India Today, Zee Media, ABP Network and Times Now, run offices and studios here. The government's own film-city listing notes that, despite the studios, it now works more as an office complex. The nearest Blue Line station is Sector 16.

What does glass have to do in a media building?

More than in an ordinary office. A newsroom is also a set; an edit suite needs quiet; a control room needs to see into a studio. Each of those changes the specification:

Glass by room type in Film City studio and office buildings
RoomUsual glassWhyRate from (per sq ft)
Producer or editor cabinFrameless partition with doorClear sightlines to the desk₹400
Studio or control-room windowFixed frameless glassNo door, clean edges₹350
Edit or voice roomAluminium profile partition with doorFrame seals around the door₹1,100
Building entranceToughened shop front with doorHeavy daily traffic₹500

Office glass is 12mm Saint-Gobain toughened glass with SS304 fittings, with a 2 year functional warranty on the floor machine. A single glass wall reduces speech noise but is not an acoustic wall; office glass partition sound and privacy explains where the leaks are. Glass that appears on camera can pick up reflections of lights, which frosted or fluted glass bands help control.

Getting into the complex

Broadcast buildings run their own security, and shows do not pause for a contractor. Before the visit, ask your admin team for:

  1. The gate-pass process for people and for material vehicles.
  2. Hours when drilling and carrying glass through common areas are allowed.
  3. The goods lift's inside size, since cabin panels are tall.
  4. Any building sign-off needed for a change to the floor layout.

With that in hand, the usual pattern is one measuring visit, all glass made together (generally 7–10 days, because toughened glass is cut before tempering), then installation zone by zone so the floor keeps working.

Doors that never get a rest

Entrance doors to newsrooms and studios swing day and night, so floor springs and patch fittings wear early. A door that slams, drifts open or drops at one corner is usually a hardware fault, not broken glass. A glass door floor machine repair is quoted from a short video on WhatsApp, without the paid visit. The glass door maintenance checklist shows what to watch for.

Classrooms, screening rooms and meeting rooms

Not every room in Film City is on air. The complex also houses AAFT's teaching spaces and the offices of production houses, where the glass job looks more like an ordinary fit-out: a meeting room boxed in fixed glass, a cabin for a department head, a glass door to a small screening or review room. These rooms usually want a frosted band for privacy and a door that closes quietly. A fixed glass wall with a single hinged door often costs less than a full cabin, because only one side of the room is glass. For layout ideas, see conference room glass design.

Old windows in older blocks

Some of the earlier buildings in the complex still have their original windows. Where a room has become an edit bay or a voice booth, a leaky single-glazed window undoes the work of a well-sealed partition. Replacing it with an aluminium sliding window or a sealed uPVC window is quoted after measurement.

Outside the studios

Some older buildings in the complex need work on the outside: an ACP cladding re-face, aluminium louvers or a new rolling shutter on a store. These are surveyed and quoted after the visit.

The visit is generally arranged within 24–48 hours; the free written quote follows within about two hours and is valid for 3 days; payment is 50% advance and 50% on completion. For cabins in detail, see studio and newsroom glass cabins in Film City. The non-media offices of Sector 16 and the shops of Sector 18 are a short drive away, and office fit-outs in Noida covers whole floors.

Common questions

Do you work inside Noida Film City studio buildings?

Yes. Film City is within our Noida area. Share your building's gate-pass and work-hour rules at booking, and the site visit, generally within 24–48 hours, and the installation days are planned around them.

What does a glass edit room cost in Film City?

An aluminium-framed partition with a door, which seals better for sound, starts at ₹1,100 per sq ft. A frameless cabin starts at ₹400 per sq ft. The written quote after measuring gives the all-inclusive figure for your room.

Newsroom ka glass door repair karwana hai, kitna time lagega?

Hardware repairs such as a floor spring are quicker than new glass. If the glass itself has broken, toughened glass is made to size and generally takes 7–10 days. Send a video on WhatsApp first; repairs are quoted from it without a paid visit.
